How much volume *can* you eat?
I am almost a year out. I am a revision from a lap band, so my pouch is larger than average. I can eat WAY more than what you have listed. (Actually, I will be having an EGD in January because my wt. loss stopped 6 mons ago. I have only lost 50 lbs. since my rny) I can eat a whole ham sandwich, two eggs with toast, a full size Panera salad with chicken, 2 cups of chili, a small steak with veggies. I only stay full for about half an hour and I only feel mildly full at that
I have never felt full - even from the beginning. It has been 21 months since my surgery, and, while it is very worth it, I have been on a diet from the beginning of the process. Meaning - I have had to stop myself at the right amount, because I have never had the built-in tools. I don't dump. I can eat a lot at a sitting, and occasionally I do, but I try to stay at about 1200 calories a day. While I am not "hungry" either, I still have that darn head hunger to cope with.
One of my goals this year is to take off the last 10 lbs - I have been at this weight for a year+ now - and to come here more regularly to get and give support. I think this is very important what we do here...

I am glad I am not alone Barbara.. I do get "full" but it doesn't last but minutes it seems now for me.. before it would last for a couple hours.. no longer does that ever happen. I am sure part of is the natural stretching /relaxing of the stoma but I do have concern I have eaten too much or past my limit a lot and have done damage but like you I just make myself stop.. this surgery isn't a cure by any means.. you still "diet" and watch things just as much as before.. amazing eh? Keep up the good work, I agree coming here has really helped me this past year and I will not stop coming. It will keep me in line, thank you for sharing your experiences with me. It means a lot. Best of luck and health to you in 2008.

I am constantly hungry, too. I chalked it up to my metabolism being so much more ramped up with exercise. My friends laugh because there are days that I eat every hour on the hour. My students tease me about eating two breakfasts every day. I get full, but it never lasts for too long.
And this post has made me hungry--lmao--imagine that.

Well, I'm going to be honest.
I have on occasion eaten a hamburger, fries, and a slice of pie in one sitting and didnt feel miserable.
I know!!!! Terible.....but, I am maintaining and try to make up for it. I think I have stretched something and I hope it can fix itself. I have been very good after my brief rebelous stage and I am currently doing the 5day
Wow - sure glad to know as well that I am not alone - I was getting worried about the amount I could eat - and then always feeling hungry - I try to keep it at around 1 cup of food 3x day -
my surgeon says NEVER NEVER more than 3/4 of a cup 3x a day and THAT is it.....
I try - but then i get hungry......
hmmm
