OK ALL YOU 5 DAY POUCH Test People
All right guys. The holidays are officially over and we have enjoyed them immensely. We indulged a little bit and that's ok because we don't want to feel deprived. But now it's time for damage control. We can get our little pouches working again and take off those holiday pounds. Let's be here for each other. Day 1- liquids only. Get those protein drinks ready and drink plenty of water. Don't forget to get a little exercise in. Let's be here for each other. Feel free to vent. We can do this. !!!!!

Yeah, Joann! You must be an early bird, you beat me to posting this thread! hehehe. Were you up early exercising? I was up early, had lots of hot decaf tea, and then went back and snoozed for another hour. I'm enjoying my protein shake as we speak! For the next few hours, I'll have more hot decaf tea and, maybe, some broth. I'll be at work and--I hope--people haven't brought in all of their holiday food crap to load off on others! I'm sure they have, but I'll be strong. I enjoyed myself way too much all of December.
I plan on coming home for lunch, and I'll have 1 c. of barley/lentil/vegetable soup, and then sip on more decaf tea all afternoon. I'll get in 2 more protein shakes before the days over, and maybe some more soup. That will give me my 5 small meals, with room for a 6th if I'm too crazy.
I hope to get some exercise in...the treadmill is waiting for me. I'll post tonight...I hope everyone has a GREAT day! Remember, this thread isn't just for 5dpt people, it's about getting back to basics or a plan that works for you. There's comfort in knowing that others are in the same boat and we're working side by side to be even better. We CAN do this.

Hi all:
Well, I am most of the way through my day already. I am in Germany and it is 5:30 pm here already.
So far so good. I have had 2 protein shakes, tons of decaf tea, water and 1 cup of chicken broth. Getting ready to have some jello or more broth.
I also got in a good, brisk 40 min walk. It is cold, brrrr! But, it was good to get outside for exercise.
Have a great day everyone! Stay strong.

I finished the pouch test yesterday. Lost about 5 pounds but gained control again, thats the important thing. My pouch feels like it did right after surgery, I can only eat a little before I feel full, and it is again sensitive to sugar and fats. WOOHOO! Thats what I was aiming for!
Now, to conitnue on,,,protein firs****er water water, and exercise!!
Blessings
Betsy

I was up early and had 2 cups of coffee then a protein shake. Did a 1 hour workout during which I drank 2 1/2 bottles of water, so I got a good start. Im going to go out shopping so I will eat a cup of my homemade bean soup before I go to ward off any temptations. I think the key here is to " water load" to keep from getting hungry. I must say I was a little embarrassed over the holidays because of the weight I have gained in the last year ( about 15 pounds ), I need to prove that I have control over it. Debra
You do have control over it. It sounds like you're off to a great start! What kind of a workout do you do? I definitely need some inspiration in the exercise department. I like to talk about it, that's it. But, I will do it, because this is going to be my best year ever and I know I need to exercise to be strong and to stay healthy. (if I say this over and over it may help me to actually do it!).
I just cannot tolerate plain water, so I've been doing lots of decaf black and herbal tea, and warm water with lemon. Fluids do help.
Well, I think I'm behind everyone here in the Mountain Time Zone. Doing good so far, lots of water, SF Apple Cider and one protein shake. Just couldn't do the decaf tea or coffee so I had 1/2 cup of regular coffe first thing this morning.
As far as exercise goes, will have to hit the treadmill tonight as I came into work at 6am. Best of luck to everyone, lets keep each other going.

I'm in. Just sipping my Nectar Lemon Tea right now.
I did this back in September and found it not too hard. I felt like my pouch was back to it's old self and lost 6 pounds to boot. Of course I have regained the six and my eating habits have been poor to say the least.
The exercise will be the hard part. I like to walk and it was -6 (not a typo) on my way to work this morning! The weekend should be tropical with highs in the upper 30s, so I will be able to log a few miles.
Suggestion: when you (or whoever) does the daily post, add the link to the pouch test info - http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html
Take care.
