Ok have question about the 5 day pouch test!
Ok as I said before. I am starting the 5 day pouch test tomorrow and I am really excited YAY! I finally feel for the first time since my surgery that I have some hope!
Anyway....I just have a question about the test. Are you allowed to incorporate foods from the first few days into the foods on the 4th and 5th days? LIke I am allowed to have an egg for breakfast on the 5th day.....or am I going to have to choke down a chicken breast early in the morning! The thought of that is kinda gross......I am sure you probably are not supposed to eat the foods from the other days but I was just curious.
I think for me day 4 is going to be the worst. I do not like seafood so according to the list on the website I will not really have many options. Day 3 will just be alot of eggs in different ways.......cottage cheese.......and I will choke down some tuna. I am going to try the Salisbury Steak recipe from the website on day 4 however. I think that one sounds good. There was a tuna patty one that sounded pretty good too.
Well good luck to all of you and hopefully someone will know the answer to my question...even though I think I already know the answer :-) ![]()
Always,
Jo
"On days 4 & 5 you can still eat stuff from days 1,2 &3. So, use a protein drink, egg, or cheese stick for breakfast and you'll be fine." --Kressy
"They are correct, that any of the day 1,2 & 3 foods are fine for days 4 & 5. But it never hurts to look outside of the "Breakfast Box" and eat lunch or dinner type foods. I've found that a few thin slices of chicken breast hold my appetite and energy in check better than anything else I can eat for breakfast. Although, admittedly, I'm stuck in a hard-cooked egg/cottage cheese breakfast rut." --Kaye So that is great! I didn't think you would be able to do that. For some reason under the main instructions it sounds like you are not supposed to do that. I think I am going to try not to eat some of the things from the first few days anyway.....except for maybe the eggs and tuna...maybe some sugar free pudding at night :-)
