Mike: You are not alone!!  The further out we get, the more we can tolerate and eat!  Alot of people on here have been doing a 5 day pouch test.  The first two days are protein shakes, sf jello, sf pudding, and cream soups.  Drink as much water as you can.   The next three days are proteins soft then solid.  you should be able to look back on the posts and find the link with the specifics.  It is very hard to get back on track!!  I have gained about 20 lbs from my lowest, and have been eating everything and anything!!  I have been doing the 5dpt for two days. I haven't been perfect but am doing much better than I was before I started.  I am down 3 lbs already!   Up your exercise, water, and protein. watch those carbs!!  Try to eat as you did in the early days post op!  It isn't easy, but hang in there!!  Remember how things were presurgery, remind yourself of it when the cravings start!!  Good luck and hang in there!!!  Hope things get better for you and your wife!!!   DeeAnn

Hi, I'm 5 years out..and have gained a good amount of weight back.  I got myself back on track (am losing weight !!) by: *  writing down everything I eat * paying attention to what satisfies me and keep me satiated.   * I was eating too many carbs...was a toast addict...so am now still eating carbs..but in moderation...and only with protein.  (ie: egg on english muffin). * I have started to eat more protein * Don't drink with meals (this was a big part of my weight gain).  Wait at least 45 min before drinking * 45 - 60 min after a meal to help keep you full...drink a lot of fluids (trust me..DRINK..DRINK..DRINK...I just had kidney stone surgery yesterday) I hope this helps...let me know if you want more ideas. I will pray for you and your wife. Jayde
