Were you bypassed Proximal or Distal - RNY
I decided to post this here since this is the GRAD board, its also on the main board too.
I had my last consoltation with my surgeon today and asked how much would be bypassed. She said 150 cm.
I was shocked and expecting to hear 75 because I have "low" BMI and am a lightweight.
If you dont mind me asking those of you that have had or already know what you are having bypassed :
How much did they bypass for you
and
What was your weight at surgery
Thanks for your responses
I was bypassed 150cm and was 280 on surgery day. Doc said it was best for my diabetes not just for weight loss.

The bypassed intestines have less do with losing weight and more to do with maintaining weight. A person that is more distally biypassed will be able to maintain their weight loss easier then someone who has had a proximal procedure.
We have many light weights on the DS forum, most of whom lost to their "perfect" weight, and that is with an very short common channel.
