Did You Move To Lose Today?
Wow, it's snowing here like crazy.
I have to say Girls rule
Sorry guys if you are reading this. When to my first evening class for boxing and there were about 25 people there. 5 guys, 3 of them were teenagers and the rest were female. Not sure what that means
But it was pretty cool.
So I went to my boxing class last night and just got back from my bar bell strength class.
So my friend Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today. I have been pretty chatty the last couple of days so lets just get it out there and inspire and help others get up and MOVE
Stay Sexy, Strong and Sassy!
Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy
YES, YES I DID!!!
I have been lurking on this post for ages now and you all have inspired me. I haven't been doing much exercise for months now. Well since school started out I now walk a mile most days to pick my daughter up from school, and today was my first day on my new stepper that I bought yesterday!
I am so proud of myself. I did 20 minutes and burned up 300 calories (according to the monitor thingy!).
Now I know that compared to you guys this is kindergarten stuff, but I hope now I have made a start I can gradually increase...
Thanks to you all for posting and inspiring. (Hey Kathy, wish I had your snow - I love the stuff. It's just grey wet and miserable here :-( )
Ruth
Ruth,
I don't think 20 min. on any new machine or exercise gadget is "kindergarten stuff"!! I think my legs would be feelin' it!
My favorite cardio machine is the elliptical; however, when I first started on it, I was DYING after 10 min. (really, I was dying after 5 min. but absolutely forced myself to stay on it)!
Hope you keep posting!
Always,
Jo
Hi Kathy, et all,
After your PM Kathy, I took a break yesterday, usually Wednesday is bowling and I dont exersice that day anyway.
I am making sure I get in my 64oz of water in a day and I really have been busy with work to establish my fitday.com food log. Since I am taking off tonight too (following your advice Kathy) execpt for snothrowing I am planning to start my food log tonight and entering tomorrow.
I really appreicate your extra effort with me. I would've given up by now if it wasn't for this post and the chat room (thats down!!!!!!!!!! ahhh)
Sorry this gets long today but I feel I have really come along way in the exersice
department but those who have been reading this know I am at a crossroads and so close to throwing in the towel.
The "post op" part of me really wants to succeed at losing the 50lbs to get to goal and my reward is the tummy tuck that I need. BUT, that damn preop me creeps in and tells me why bother, nothing seems to be working. I am at the verge of tears right now writing how deep this hurts. I have got to find the strength to make this change FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
I don't want to give up on me like I have so many times before RNY.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest
God Bless and keep it moving......
Tmac

We had some snow blowing down here in south-central IL this morn., but it fizzled out. Think it's supposed to get really, really cold though.
Went to the gym this morn. After totally lapsing during the mo. of Dec., I've mainly been concentrating on getting my cardio built back up, but I've been gradually adding back the weight machines & free weights also. I'm not anywhere near where I used to be, but I'm feeling pretty motivated. Today, I did a little less cardio (about 40 min.) but about 20 min. of lower-body work (my very least favorite!).
I've certainly made no secret of how I do NOT love exercising (!), but when I'm at the gym, I'm damned proud of myself! Although there are people there of all ages, the majority are considerably younger than I am (in my final weeks of being 57!). This doesn't bother me in the least, though, as I'm just still so amazed that I can go to a place like this and just feel like a "normal person"! I look at the young girls and women and think what a WONDERFUL thing they are doing for themselves by exercising and taking care of themselves. I am so happy that my 27 & 29 year old daughters (both slim) have made working out a normal part of their lives.
So I'm excited to hear about all the girls/women at your boxing class!

Always,
Jo
I did 25 min. on the stairmaster with interval fast/med speed and 20 min on the treadmill uphill fast pace. 402 cal. burned
I always exercise on my lunch hour at work, since there is a gym in my office building. Everyday I have to talk myself into getting my butt to the gym, then afterward I feel fabulous. lol I guess the talking myself into it, is just part of my routine. haha
