I cut loose for dinner. We went to happy hour at the local mexican place. margarita ville again...TWICE in two weeks. Oh my gosh. That's more than the previous six months. LOL Breakfast: Malto meal, soy milk, wheat germ, blueberries and a cup of coffee Snack: V8 juice, SoBe Granola Cluster package, 3TB Soy butter and multi grain crackers Lunch: 4 oz Shrimp and salad with Rasp Pomegrante dressing Snack: Jack Black Beef Jerky 2 oz Steak, home made protein bar (not together but separated by an hour or so) Dinner: Margarita (count it as two cuz 168 calories can't be right) Then it gets alittle fuzzy...I had some tortilla chips with cheese sauce, some guacamole and pickles (not together) and a bite of a chicken taco. When I got home at 6 pm I was hungry again and had a cheese stick and a SoBe Granola Cluster package Maybe the totals look like this:  Calories: 2245 Fat: 69 Carbs: 218 Protein: 133 (the one place I did really good!)

You think what you ate was that high.  seems it would be lower..  protein was great.. They need to make malto meal in easy to serve serving sizes like my oatmeal.  I just dont have the time to work out the details in the morning...lol.. or maybe I am just to lazy to work out the details... thats more like it. I love margaritas... you are making me thristy but I am so affraid I would kell over.. i am already a light weight with wls I am not sure what would happen to me.. Have a great weekend and you are doing great even with the little happy day added in. Carla

Oh I definately got totally crocked after 1/3 of that margarita...And when I finished it, I was sure I wasn't going to walk around anywhere. But we stayed there for a couple of hours and ate some things and I still wasn't okay to drive but I got to the car and hubby (didn't drink) drove home. I'm a stickler for that not driving after any alcoholic beverages..I did get thirsty. I drank 2 - 24oz bottles of water during the day with several cups of hot tea before. Then the next morning I had one cup of coffee and another 24 oz bottle before 9 am snack..

Malto meal is 3 T of the meal, 2 T of the Wheat Germ and one Cup of Soy milk...Microwaved three minutes, one minute at a time, stir inbetween...Easy enough. Actually the single packet of oatmeal isn't enough for me...I usually do one plain packet and one sugar free packet of the maple and brown sugar..I'm a pig. But I'm finding that the oatmeal doesn't sit as well with me for some reason. Not sure why. I was going to switch to steel cut oats but that's way more work than I want to do early in the morning...LOL

I could probably eat more myself. I just dont.  I have found since I have been adding that protein in it in the morning I get really full and it holds me for a long time.

YOu're so right...I eat a whole lot more than most WLS patients and I'm sure that confuses newbies so I keep it to myself generally. I was playing with adding the protein earlier in the morning a couple of times but I'm finding my pouch just really likes the gentle warm up the malto meal gives me. Of course when and if I start packing it on, I'm going to revamp the whole thing.  Someone expressed confusion over my "dealing with" WLS issues of maintenance and said "You've succeeded" meaning I was done. I'd finished well. I just can't wrap my head around "finished" at all. This is a journey and it won't be over till they cover me with dirt, I guess. I can't see any end in sight. No retirement. No finishline. This is going to be a life long struggle and vigilance. But with the tool I've been given, I may just keep on the right path.

I think Kraft has one that has walnut in it.  I can't have that one but I found one over at the dollar store (I'm a cheapo) that was by All Seasons (generic, I guess) and it's pretty goo. They have a web address:  www.greatsalads.com/allseasons. How cool is that?
