Fatty Fat Fat??
I usually eat 50-60 grams of fat per day when I'm eating 2000-2100 calories, 150 g. protein, 250 g. carbs. So that works out to about 25% of my daily calories coming from fats. I don't intentionally eat a low-fat diet, but it sort of works out that way to meet my other dietary needs. If I wanted to bump up my fat intake, I'd switch from low-fat dairy products to either full-fat dairy products or higher fat dairy products (2% milk, regular cheese, regular cottage cheese, etc.). For me, that would be the easiest way to increase my fat intake without having to seriously revamp my daily food plan. I'd also probably add some peanut butter to my daily routine as well, since it's a good source of protein and fat. Regarding the constipation, I struggled for a while until I found a routine that keeps me regular. I take 3 stool softener tablets (ducosate sodium) each day with my iron supplement, one dose of Miralax at bedtime in 16 oz. of water, I eat at least 25 g. of fiber per day, and I drink at least 64 oz. of non-caffeinated fluids per day (often more). If I get to the end of the day and my fiber is low, I'll have a serving of Kellogg's AllBran Buds w/ milk for a bedtime snack. (1/3 c. is 70 calories and 13 grams of fiber.) Good luck finding a routine that's comfortable for you and helps keep you regular! Who knew what a blessing that could be??? Kellie
