If you are not doing so, play the music loud  I found when I was trying to do 3 miles for my first 5k I would poop out around 1.5 or 2 miles.  A really great song would come on and I would find I was moving faster and had more energy than I thought I had. Music is the key to make you do more We are proud of you and my husband is headed your way next month.  I just know there is going to be a snow storm.  Anyone that travels your way in March is nuts.  No offense Take care, Kathy

Hi Kathy,  I just got done with my 4.5 hour walk in an hour.  Got my new shoes, pedometor and heart rate monitor working for me.  Enjoyed my walk.  I need to get an IPOD or something.  Gonna add some strength training soon.  I have a fitness trainer friend that can probebly come up with a good plan for me so I will wait for her to get time to work with me.  I am thinking about starting to run,  I should probebly talk to Doc first to make sure my knee can handle that.  Joind our community walking the rez program and yesterday logged 12199 steps and today I have already logged 9457 steps and it is only 1:48 in the afternoon.  Thanls for running this thread!

Kathy - thank you for your answer yesterday - usually i walk on the treadmill and watch/listen to the news. This morning I turned on VH1 instead and listened to the video classics while walking - it really helped - didn't hear any negative talking in my head, just music - the 45 minute went by faster. thanks again.:)
