So I think your numbers are awesome.. you are going great.. with the exercise you are doing you should be eating 1300 to 1500 calories depending on if you are still working on loosing weight.. I think you are so the lower number is fine.  You dont want to go below 1200 cause your body will rebel and hold on to the food.  Your numbers are great.  you barely hit 100 in carbs and that is actually less.. the protein rocks big time..  You are seeing results so I know you know you are doing great.  just keep on sailing and you will get there.. Be good to yourself. Carla

Okay...so I finally decided to track my entire day because I really had no idea what I was really eating as far as calories, fat and carbs... I visually weigh my food and am pretty accurate at it....Still I weigh stuff quite often just to keep an eye on my self-honesty!  So I was a little surprized at the results. I was thinking I ate too much today and thought for certain I was off the charts. But I added it all up and of course I still don't know really how I did...so can you guys give me a clue??? I did have many more snacks than normal...but I also walked for an hour and half today..and that always makes me eat more...  B: 1/2 C high protein cereal       1/2C soymilk       3/4 tsp virgin coconut oil L: 5oz. Sweet and spicy tuna     1/4C mixed grated cheese melted     Small pickle S:10 raw almonds S: 22 raw sugar snap peas in pods (head hunger snack) D: 3/4 homemade Ruben Sandwich on olive oil grilled thin cut rye bread   w/sauerkraut  1oz swiss cheese and 1T thousand Island dressing S: 10 tiny organic spelt flour-ginger snap cookies S: Whipped boiled turnips and boiled onions with ginger and honey, egg and bread crumbs     baked S:  two fresh strawberries to kill hunger pang before bed. Fat:71g   Carbs:104g    Protein:92g    Fiber:16.5g    Sugar: 40g   Cal:1458

Anita, I looked at your numbers first and though ouch those carbs are high (for me anyway).....then looked at your food; which is lots of good carbs, then net out the fiber and your actual countable "carbs" for yesterday was 87.5 which is great.   Good day girlfriend!  Glad you joined us, it really does help me......although some days I would rather crawl under a rock then post. Ahhhh...is that how you do it?  You subtract the fiber from the carbs?  Still, I have no idea what the numbers should be at all!  But I figured I didn't eat some 2500 calories as I thought I might have...so I just posted it and decided to suck up the results!  I might hide under a rock some days too!  LOL  I was kinda peeking from behind one, just in case!  Hugs, Anita

I've seen lots of longer term post-ops that journal their intake shoot for calories in the 1000-1400 range.....as of now it is working for me.....now if I really exercised I could probably eat more but I'm really satisifed with my intake (I rarely am truly hungry) and some days I feel like I could eat more other days I struggle to get in near enough. Who knows what we should have.......I'm sure we'll be tweaking things around here and there FOREVER, lol. Lots of people delete the fiber from the carbs and geez I've been reminded many a times that my carbs aren't bad if you take the fiber out.........the thing though is I'm lazy and just copy/paste from fitday.....I have made it a point just in the last week when I customize a food to deduct fiber from the total carb number.....me thinking is a carb is a carb is a carb but I was corrected, roflmao. Looks like a great day to me ;) I always strive for 100 carbs a day. It is the FDA recomendation for healthy people. If I weigh 10 or 20 pounds over skinny to be healthy, Im ok with that. Your brain uses carbohydrates - glucouse as its energy source. I dont need less brain fuel, if anything most days I could use more :P I do distinguish between good and bad carbs. I limit my whites, unless Im out for dinner with other people, something I do so rarely I just enjoy it. I try to eat oatmeal, cereal, all fruits, all veggies and all dairy regularly if not daily.... there are certain daily requirements that we need for over all body health, to ignore those to be a smaller weight is to aim to be unhealthy :( snugs  PK

yes she is right on the money with that one.  your carbs are not bad when u factor in the fiber...and you exercised so you are good on the cals.  I would like to see the protein a little bit higher.. over 100 and up would be great.  What you ate were all great choices too.. you are doing fantastic.. in time you will see things from tracking it like this.. many things I use to eat I wont touch now.. and other things I thought were bad werent at all.. Keep up the good job. Carla
