Labs & Lab Codes
Ok, I finally scheduled my annual physical with a new PCP in Louisiana......I talked to his office today about wanting a detailed list of labs that I NEED to have run.
She said just bring in the list and he will run whatever I want, OMG will it really be that easy, lol.
My question is the list I have from Michelle and Angie give lab code numbers......are these numbers the same everywhere, or is it better to just request the test I want......I surely don't want to confuse the heck out of them with lab code numbers, lol.
It's been almost 9 months from my last labs, this insurance I have now is aweful the deductable is $3,800 a year except for the one annual physical exam in which it pays 100% so I don't want to miss a thing!

Dana,
Yep it really is that easy! My doc was thrilled that I had my own tests! She had different codes so it doesn't matter. She found them all just with the test names....I just got in an order too for a B-1 test that is not on the list...so add that too!
I go in tomorrow for more tests too...To include the B-1 and B-12..
Good luck sweetie!
Anita
Hnmm, B1 is on my list, ner the bottom? thiamine. bet they mishandled the specimen.
The 8XXXX codes are more generic. The shorter codes were quest. Best I could do.
Some docs will order test by test. This groups them by hep panel, CMP, lipids and rather than say, B12 and folic acid, it codes them as B12/folic. SAme tests, simpler code.
My docs used it. Local lab has made their own list using their codes and keep a file and use it whenever they see this list. LOL
Some of the dx codes at the bottom are old. But really, you don't need them all, only 1-2.
