No grumpy bears allowed.  With that work out I am sure you were hungry.  It's strange how the body just knows when it needs more or less.  great job girl.. Tata Carla

Hey Carla, sorry to hear you're going through that.  I think it's normal for our families & friends to be concerned about us when we get to the 12-18 month postop mark....simply because they are not used to seeing us at that weight or size.  Or maybe it's because for some reason at that particular point in time our bodies look a bit disproportionate....almost like we've got a huge bubble head on top of a small body! :-)   I got a lot of comments from my family about "when are you going to stop losing?" and my mother was convinced I would become anorexic.  But after getting used to me looking like this for 3 years postop (and a 10 pound regain) the comments have ceased.  Hope your family adjusts to the new you! Today was low numbers for me because I had a same-day surgery and didn't begin to drink or eat anything until 2pm.  Even with the high numbers on Sunday and the low numbers today...my weight is up again.  I am so frustrated and hate my body right now.  I've got to get back to a regular exercise routine...for me that's the key in maintaining. Since my eating schedule was off here's how it looked: Post surgery:  2 saltine crackers, 1 graham cracker S:  Cafe Americano w/H&H (couldn't wait to get my coffee!)...then later a protein shake (8 oz. choc soy slender + Whey Gourmet cappaccino protein) D:  2 Trader Joe's coconut curry chicken sticks, 2 slices pepperoni, 1 oz. lowfat cheddar cheese S:  protein hot cocoa (1 scoop Nectar Sweets Vanilla Bean + 1/2 scoop BSN Dessert Cinnamon Roll + Diet Swiss Miss) Cals:  841 Fat:  32 Carbs:  50 Fiber:  9 Protein:  87

I agree totally and I am expecting a bounce back of 10 pounds to hit me sooner or later.  Thats why I went under my goal weight, although my body is the one who wanted to go here.  I think they are just not use to seeing me this way.  I did maintain my weight for years at 140-145 before I got hurt and my weight gain nightmare began.  I dont want to go back to that number though.  Liking this one much better. Now onto you.. wow.. very low day for you.  low everywhere.  its tough when your schedule gets messed up.  Have a plan today and stick to it girl.. sail that ship Carla

Good day yesterday......it was one of those days that I wasn't hungry; can't find a rhyme or reason why one day I want food all day and another it is so unappealing. March 17, 2008

I think its our bodies way of leveling us out.  Do you get hungier when you get to low on the scale.  It kind of says.. you need more.  I think it does that when we follow a low day of eating too.  If we listen to our bodies they will keep us healthy.  for years we didnt and thats what got us in trouble. Good day still.  113 on protein is great and the other numbers are awesome.  weigh to go you. Carla

Dana go back and see what you ate in the morning. If its carb related you will be hungry all day. I have read Dr Perricone and Dr Denese's books and they both agree if you eat before lunch time or before 1:30 or 2 your cortisol will need more fuel. I have found this to be so true. If I decide to make poached eggs with a slice of bread before noon I swear I am hungry the entire day. I usually don't get hungry but sometimes I test myself. I start about 2:15 with a drink but of course I usually don't get up till 10. So look at yesterday to see if you started with a carb of any kind.

Well since I'm been in a rut lately, lol (oatmeal w/Vanilla Cream Protein Powder) it's probably not that.....this time......I have found if I eat oatmeal without protein powder yes I do get hungry before lunch and yes I do have a sugar crash (too much carb not enough protein). Some days I'm sure it's head hunger, because I know physically I'm satisifed, mentally my mind is say "what can I eat next".....oh girl and these are the days my eating isn't "so healthy", lol.

Try going back to just the protein in AM if you must have something in morning. Have your oatmeal for lunch and dump the bars they are empty calories and protein is not so high. For me its not the amount of protein, it definitely is the quality of protein, thats why I buy the isolated whey only.  I just drank my first meal (2:15PM) and its not just a protein drink ,it's a meal replacement (slimfast lo carb) with unflavored protien added, this is only way to get the protein until I find one flavored I could use without ace k or aspartame. The Slimfast keeps me satisfied for 4 hrs at least. I know you use flavored protein ands calories might not be sufficent as a meal. 2 net carbs, might be something for you to consider since you have it there, you know what you are having and you are not opening the cabinet or fridge looking for something to fill you at that moment. Have you ever heard of or tried  Jay Robb, read he won a award for his "isolated whey" and its made with Stevia? I haven't tried that sweenter as yet but am going to order this and if I don't like it Frank will drink it. You know upon his release from hospital not only did they make sure he was on 4 grams of Omega's but they asked me if I ever heard of isolated whey, that he should have 60-80 grams a day and he started to laugh because he has been getting it and taking 2 grams of Omega already. They explained to him  how the protein heals the body...yada yada yada so now he asks me did I get enough protein today...its very cute how monkey see, money doooo!!

I am the same way when I ate oatmeal.  I would sit there and want something else and usually ended up with a protein bar to go with my oatmeal and protein drink.  it was way to much.  I tired that go lean high protein high fiber cereal.  I LOVE THAT STUFF.  Not only i it good I am not hungry at all for the rest of the morning.  I can even go later to get to lunch time which I couldnt do before.  It's low in sugar and has a nice crunch.  I figure i get 14 plus milk protein with a cup of it.. for about 200 calories which is about the same as the oatmeal with protein. Anyway, check it out. I know I get hunger if I eat other things. Carla
