Hi,
First, I've been dumping really bad with my whey protein shake. Other than water, what else could I mix it with ? Skim milk just aint cutting it. O.K. I'm on my way to having a new addiction with banana chips ! What do you guys think... 10g fat too high? Please tell me this is a good snack.
Thank you !

I love banana chips! They tastes wickedly good with almonds! (and ginger snaps stacked three high!!) LOL I eat 16 chips with 16 almonds and 16 mini ginger snaps cookies(i serving) for a really hearty meal!
But only once in a while. Banana chips can add on the fat and caloies no doubt...but they are not an unhealthy snack. They are loaded with potassium and a wide variety of other vitamins...But they also have a ton of natural sugar...and you noticed the fat in the chips! Eat this snack moderately! You'd be better off just eating a small banana or half of a large one. I buy banana chips all the time! I crumble a few in my cereal now and then...But that is one snack you don't want to form a habit on! LOL Yer so cute!
I cannot drink whey either! I use a blend of Soy Isolate and Whey, for lactose intolerance and so far it is the only complete protein powder I have liked all these years! I never found a whey powder I could drin****il I found this blend.
Good luck!
I'm doing okay! Still a little worried about getting my iron up...But not worried at all about the other deficiencies...I think just taking two multi -vits a day is going to make a huge difference...I just hate the taste of them so I was only taking one and not everyday! Now I am faithful to my supps!
Still trying to find the right iron and dosage...What a pain in the arse! But as of yesterday I have a plan! If it works! Yay...if not iron infusons and blood transfusions...and I'll just beat this thing the long and hard way! :( But I will beat it.
Glad you are getting your labs too! It really gave me peace of mind even though I didn't think I was having any problems! And now that I am...I'm just glad to know. You will be glad too! Please let me know how you do! You and I kinda let this go too long...so I'll be so happy if you are well with no troubles! I still think I was already anemic and no one tested my iron levels before during or after surgery! Plus it runs in my family, which I didn't know...
I wish you luck! Crossing fingers here for good results!
Hugs
Anita
PS...Someone ate all my banana chips! I went searching for them! LOL! Dang it!
You could do much better. Most of these are DEEP FRIED in oils. Is a potato as healthy when it is deep fried into a potato chip? I don't think so. I think these are a snack that you really have to watch and limit because they are high in calories AND fat. You could make your own by baking them which is a MUCH healthier alternative.
From Nutrition Action Newsletter:
It’s bad enough that these “all natural” banana slices are fried, sweetened, and pumped up with “natural banana flavor.” Instead of a 100-calorie fresh banana, each modest (1/4 cup) serving supplies 150 calories, thank you very much. Worse yet, the banana chips are fried in coconut oil, the most saturated fat around. Of the eight grams of fat in each serving, seven are saturated. A McDonald’s Quarter Pounder has eight grams of sat fat.
