Hungry, then not hungry day cycles
Btw, tummy issues getting better, not all resolved but a bit better, it's been 10 days now! Worst tummy bug ever! Am on Immodium AD and probiotics right now and are starting to help.
But what I'm posting about now has been going on for me for a couple months now and I'm definitely seeing a trend and wondering if others experience this or if I'm weird!
One day I am not hungry, can barely force food down, eat only a little and am overly full for hours, find it impossible to eat enough and have to supplement with shakes and/or liquid meals.
The very next day I am ravenous and eat 5x as much as the day before (though my 5x more resembles close to a normal amount of daily food intake, but is a lot more than usual for me).
Then the next day back to not hungry don't want to eat, then the next day ravenous again and eating all day, and so on and so on, wash, rinse, repeat.
Also wondering why this happens, if there is an actual cause or this is just how some people work?

Melissa, I experience the same thing, no rhyme or reason; I think and this is my opinion only that the body will tell us what we need. It often drives me crazy trying to figure out why, but by seeing and hearing from others, this is very common.

Melissa glad you're feeling better...body will tell you what it needs however if I start the day with a piece of toast (carb) I am hungry every time I turn around so I stick strictly with a good dosage of protein and stay full. I really have to push to eat many days as I really don't get hungry. I hope you are taking your vits and 64 oz of water at least as well.
Current weight:120 and still 5'4
Glad you are starting to feel better...
As for the hungry...not hungry...That's so me. Yesterday I swear I could have eaten 2000+ calories with no trouble! All week I could not even get my calories to 1500...Today...I didn't have an appetite at all and forced myself to eat anything at all and then just ate crap anyway! Then I went grocery shopping...half my trouble is I had no good food to really eat or anything I wanted to eat...and no real plan like normal...
So you are NOT weird, unless you want to be! Then we'll all have to be weird with you...I'm almost afraid to add my numbers today...I may not have broke 1000 calories and yesterday I could barely keep control....
Hugs
Anita
I, too totally get those days. SO glad to hear I'm not alone in this. No rhyme or reason here either (except near the visit of Auynt Flo. Then I'm almost gaurenteed to not only be ABLE to eat, but desirious of "evil" foods.)

I get this! I think part of it has to do with my hormones, though, and where I am in my monthly cycle. That week before, I could eat a COW - horns, hooves, and hide! And the sweet/salty cravings - chocolate covered pretzels? Reeses cups? GIMME!!!!! One time it was so bad, I had a small bowl of Whoppers Malted Milk balls and a medium bowl of Doritos in front of me and I was eating them at the same time. God, I hate that week...
Then during the rest of the month, I either eat like a normal SANE person, or I have those "tiny tummy days" where I'm pretty much full after 5 bites of whatever it is I'm eating. And there's no rhyme or reason to those days. I think they balance out the week from hell, though...
I asked my surgeon about this and he said soemthing like "welcome to the world of normal eating" meaning this is now a pretty normal way to feel... sometimes we are hungry and soemtimes not. I used to be ravenous all the time so even now three years later it is a blessing when I have a day when I am not inclined to eat!
