has anyone done a complete colon cleanse since WLS

Im thinking about doing a colon/detox cleanse but am a little scared. I did one before my WLS and felt really awesome after. I dont want to aggravate anything like my pouch. Any suggestions? Debra

i AM NOT A DOC BUT i CANNOT SEE HOW THAT WOULD HURT.... THINK ABOUT IT, WE CLENSE WITH ENEMAS AND LORD KNOWS I HAVE DONE MY SHARE OF THOSE IN THE PST 3 YRS...LOL.... MORE THAN I EVER WANTED TO....LOL. WHAT TYPE OF DETOX ARE YOU DOING?

Im not sure what kind Im going to do yet, ive been reading alot about them. I did one before WLS and they really make a differance, gets everything working good and makes you feel better ,more energy. Im going to a local health food store tomarrow to get some more info on the differant kinds.

I always heard they were a waste of money.......that many of the kits contain clay and such which bulk up your poo and make it look like it took more out then it really did. Have you tried just eating a lot of low carb veggies and increasing your fiber? Scott

this does not sound like something i would want to do. not sure why you would want to put yourself through this. i have even heard they can be dangerous, putting your electrolytes and other body fluids out of whack. i would be real careful about this hugs, jacki

Do you mean, like a prep? Im aging, so I've had two c-scopes and yes, did the whole thing.

I used phospo-soda (cheap at drug store) and followed directions.

Or were you talking just taking something called "colon cleanse"?

I purchased a full body cleanse called "Perfect Cleanse" its made with vegetarian capsules that break down easier than regular ones which will hopefully be easier on my pouch. We have a locally owned health food store here and I spoke with the owner and told him about my WLS and thats what he recommended. I do eat a pretty well balanced diet including protein and vegetables but feel the need to cleanse the toxins. I have struggled with constipation since my WLS and laxatives and stool softners only keep things moving they dont cleanse the entire intestinal tract . I started it last night and its a 10 days cleanse so will see how it goes. Deb
