The texture is the only thing I would be aware of..I bought some that was rather large chunks and put it in my food processor. I thought the chunks would be too big for my hot cereal. That stuff does NOT want to grind up well.  I've put it in oatmeal, malto meal, oat bran (all hot cereal cooked in liquid) and I put it in a make-shift chili concoction that was just black bean and corn salsa with TVP, microwaved a bit and softened so that I could put it on baked potatoes (which cheese...yum)
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

You can moisten it in a little milk, soy or water first if it is too hard to chew...but sure...you can put it on or in anything.  It's versatile!  Can go with sweet spicy or salty!

I know this may sound dumb, but what is TVP?
