weight gain 3+ post op need help
after 3 yrs of doing great i have gained back aprox 20-30lbs (dont know the exact amount bc we had to through out our scale due to daughters anexroxia). i know this happened bc i quit eating just right and moved and never had my 3yr check up. Due to things in my life i quit taking care of myself and decided now to heck with everyone elese i need to get back on track. What is the best way to start again. I saw a post about a 5 day pouch test, would this work? I need to be reminded of the basics till i find a dr and get in (doing that next week). Any help would be appreciated. Giovanna

And it really works! The first couple of days is liquids only, but no limit on the amount. Its not for weightloss, its to reset the sensitivity of the pouch and to stop cravings. You will be able to be satisfied with smaller portions again and may even regain the ability to dump on sugar, like I did!
Its a great tool!
Try it!

Don't know if I personally like the p ouch test or see it valid, but some have, so if you feel a need to try it do.
I do feel that you already have written what you need to do. Go back to the basics, protein, fruits and vegetables. Stay away from the white stuff and sugar. Use fitday.com to track your foods, and stop buying junk. Stop making excuses, and just do it. I believe you can do this, and beyond this, exercise. Remember, no matter what goes on around you, y ou cannot lose you. What is important to you. This is a goal you can win over, and we are here to cheer you on!!

I share Tami's philosophy, I'm tackling my regain by just dropping the bad habits i picked up and going back to the eating/exercise program that worked for me before the regain set in. So far, so good (13 pounds down, 27 to go, plugging away slowly here).
Good luck. You are smart to try to get ahold of this now, do whatever will work to help you do so before the regain grows bigger. I noticed that mine really took off after the 30-pound mark (gain was relatively gradual before then), and now I understand how people regain most or all their weight even with an intact surgery. This is hard work, forever.
