Hey, Carol!  I re-read your post and realized that the problem is strictly pre-period water weight.  So forget the lipo; my niece had a fat layer after giving birth that wouldn't budge.  That's what I was thinking might help.  But since it's water weight, you have a totally different problem.  One thing that I have learned is not to use diaretic or caffeine products, as they seem to make the body "hold on" to the water.  Some friends do this with products and I've noticed that they store water in their legs more now.... almost like edema.  I don't know what's going on with that, but that's the look.  I think that adding water might be worth a try.  This is the first time that I've heard of this, but I sure hope that it works for you!   Ro

Thank you for this post!  I have to say that I'm totally where you are with the period thing.  I gain 3-5 lbs every month and can't seem to get it off until day 4.  My body seems to really love being at 140 (which was my original goal, but thought, "what the heck, let's go for ten more") and I'm definitely stuck!  I, too, freak out every month when my period is coming because I just feel so fat and miserable during this time.  Who ever would have thought 3 pounds would have such an effect.  I will say, though, that this is not my first long stall.  I have had several, which lasted 4-8 weeks or more, only to drop 6 pounds with no explanation.  So, don't give up hope!  I don't know why our bodies mess with us so terribly.  Also, I have heard that some people have great success with "flushing" the extra water weight each month by doubling thier water intake beginning 3 days before their period and continuing through until the end of their period.  I can't say this has ever worked for me (even at 300 lbs, I was just going to gain the freaking water weight every month), but it might work for you.  Just stay close to the bathroom!

OT:  Support Group Hi, Carol... I realized that you live near me and was wondering if you knew of any support groups.  Chilton seems to do seminars for WLS, but I can't find a listing just for post-ops there. I'm not interested in going to Valley or Hackensack, but right now I'm traveling about 45 mins to meet with my  Surgeon's / Nutritionist's group.  I don't want to give this group up, but am looking for another session that is close to home.   Any info is helpful.   Ro

Hi, Carol... Did adding water help with the bloating?  I ate chinese food last week and again today... feeling like sodium overload, plus I have cramping from my period.  Two Tylenols are helping a bit, but I feel "dry mouth".  DH thinks that it's MSG, but the restaurant says that they don't add it.    I'm trying to "flush" out the sodium and reduce the bloating by getting in all of my water (64+ oz / day). I heard that people who drink caffeinated tea / coffee for the diaretic effect, end up storing water in their ankles (gravity at work?) ...  That's why the adding of water seems the way to go to me. If you noticed any decrease in bloating, let me know... I want to share it with some of the surgery sisters on our MB.  The weekly weigh-ins there really bounce around during their cycles... which BTW seem to becoming in snyc with one another.   Seems like since we've been on the MB, the group ovulates together.  Really Weird!  LOL PS:  I found out about Chilton's Support Group program(s) today. Not sure if it's for me.  I'll try it out next month to see if it's a fit.  Ro
