Nearly a year out and enjoying a couple of wow moments ... xpost
I saw friend that I haven't seen since December ... If you have seen my profile, that would be when the portraits in black were taken ... She hardly recognized me and kept saying. "OMG Barb ... I hardly recognized you! OMG..." And on, and on, and on... for about 15 minutes. She even apologized for going on about it. I guess it's about time for new portraits.
Then, yesterday, I held a WLS support group meeting and a friend of mine who also had WLS that I haven't seen for a couple of months commented that my pants seemed kind of loose. I retorted with something about 'that can't be, they are a size 6.' After I took care of some errands, I stopped at my local GW and gathered a bunch of slacks size 8, 6 and 4. The 8's were generally a bit big, some of the 6's fit and some were big, but I didn't really think I could wear a 4 ... OMG!!!!! 'jumping up and down', 'dancing in circles' ... I bought 3 pair of size 4's!!!!! I never, ever thought I'd be able to wear a 4.
I am constantly amazed and ever so grateful ... not 'just' that I can wear a size 4 and that my scale says 143, but also that my quality of life and health have improved so much. The size and weight thing is just an outward reflection of the other, less tangible things.

I know what you mean! When I put on the first size 4s, I thought yeah right ... they are just vanity 4's, but then I could put on several more. It was incredible. I'm sure I won't ever get down to a 2, but if nothing else you should make a pillow out of 'em and keep it on your bed. I think I may do that if I ever get to a point where I can't wear a 4. I think I'll take a picture in 'em quick!

P.S. While I live in NC, I'm a CA girl from SJC in SF Bay Area ... Your location is driving me nuts because I can't figure out where it is.
