For the past couple of days I've been bugging you all for advice and tips on how to get back on the wagon so I can lose the few pounds I've gained. Because of your advice, support and inspiration, I am happy to announce I've lost 2.5 lbs in the last two days ( I can't remember when I "officially" began my diet). For the first time in months I feel good about myself and my fears of my 'tool' not working anymore have vanished. Yes, my back still reminds me its there with every movement I make (even with the meds), but I have convinced myself that if I shed the pounds I've gained, perhaps my pain will diminish a bit. It happened before so it could happen again, right? LOL I've also sworn off the elastic waist bands. I didn't realize it at the time, but I've been wearing a lot of elastic. I believe this was one of the culprits in my weight gain conspiracy! I've put away all the shorts and exercise clothes with elastic....buried them deep in the bottom of the dresser so I won't be tempted to wear them again. I tell myself, "Elastic stretches and so will you"! LOL Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone. Bex

It's both fantastic and sad that 2.5 pounds can make such a difference in our world..Can you remember when you were obese thinking 2 and a half pounds will rock my world? Not me. A friend came over a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I'd gained any weight. I'd gained exactly ONE POUND. never in my life has anyone been able to tell that I gained OR LOST one stinkin pound. I've always needed to lose a dozen or two dozen or a dozen dozen...

Thanks for the heads up on the elastic..That along with pasta, bread and rice goes on my list of what is EVIL in the world.

Congrats.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

So glad to hear things are going in the right direction for you. I do agree with you about elastic waist clothes. I do not wear any except when I exercise. Lived in them as an obese person and I also didn't use a scale so I could gain 20 pounds before I would even know it.

You will get to your happy place I am sure.
