How Much More...

I am 18 months post-op, and was just wondering how much longer can I or will I continue to lose weight? I have lost 95lbs, and I have not reached my goal yet, I'm not ready to give up now.  I still want to lose maybe 20lbs more.  Can I do it, or has my time run out?

I am just a lurker here, but your tool still works GF! I am almost 3 years out and if I suck it up and get back to the basics, I will still lose! I have managed to put on a few pounds, so it's that time! My husband is over 3 years out and he can still lose! Work that tool and you will see! Good Luck, Gina

I stopped losing at 16 months, but like the previous poster, I can still lose weight if I try hard enough. I've seen people lose for several years after WLS, just at a much slower rate. You go girl, it's not too late to get rid of that last 20.

4 years out and still a loser. Your tool will always work if you take care of it.

Good luck!

I'm 3 years out and still lose on an average of 1 to 1.5 lbs a month, at this point I'm trying to maintain.  The continued loss will depend on your eating habits and exercise routine.

I am still following the basics of PROTEIN FIRST-VITAMINS-WATER-EXERCISE - REST.  Still struggling with water intake although I don't drink as much plain water as I should (can't stand the smell) but I do drink Crystal Light.  I workout 3-4x's a week along with getting in as much walking as I possibly can. I am continuing to lose inches and I do notice a change in my clothes I was wondering if there was a certain time frame before the tool actually stopped working. Thanks for the responses.

I don't believe the tool ever "stops working" I believe WE, at times, stop working IT. If that makes sense. True the weight loss will be slower, and we'll have to work harder, it's NEVER going to be like the first 4 months out. But yes the tool is meant to work forever.... but sometimes we get complacent, or gradually slack off...I read this here once "there are two things I know about human nature. First, nobody ever wakes up and declares "today is the day I will relax my enthusiasm and get off track" Second, nobody ever wakes up and gets back on track without first saying "today is the day I get back on track and I have a plan. Falling off track happens without a plan or a script. Getting back on track requires a conscious decision, a carefully designed plan and the determination to make it happen.  So... you're 18 months out, make the decision NOW to keep working your tool each day, don't wait for a 5, 10, 40 lb gain to wake up and say "today is the day I get back on track". The pouch isn't a sure fire fix, we CAN fail it, but it will not fail us! Just keep tweaking your diet and workouts to keep seeing weight loss. This pouch gave us a fighting chance, but sometimes it is just that, a fight, but aren't you worth the fight?!!. Good luck! leslee

My friend is 6 years out and is still losing weight - I dont think we ever lose the ability to - it just gets to be more work over time. Keep focused on losing that weight and dont worry about time frames - you will get there :-)
