Carb control

Here's the link:  www.thedailyplate.com  In  my opinion, it's much easier to use than fitday.com, which is another popular one.  I just played around w/ it a little while and was able to figure the features I was interested in fairly easily.  I think it's easy to type in and find foods, change the portion size if necessary, etc.  And the graphics are easy to read/interpret. Good luck!

Always,
Jo

oh my gosh i LOVE TDP!! They have EVERY THING listed in it - & i mean EVERYTHING!!! Name brands - restaurants - INDIAN DISHES - CHINESE DISHES - ITALIAN - SPANISH - lol You name it & theyve got it & its hella easy to find (unlike Fitday.com unfortunately). FD.com felt waaayyyy more complicated & in the end was frustrating & a deterant to tracking b/c it seemed nearly impossible for me to find the foods i was eating in its database. TDP on the otherhand amazes me daily & makes me totally jazzed about looking up foods BEFORE I EAT THEM to see whats in it - helping me make BETTER choices :) I LOVE THAT!

Checking out your TDP calorie journal. IMO, your calorie intake is very low. Research how your thyroid responds to extreme low calories. What can be happening is your thyroid is regulating your metabolism in order to meet your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). On the two to three days which you finally eat over 1000 calories, causes excess glucose to be stored as fats. Try to keep your carb intake under 30g per meal (5-6 meals a day), the insulin spike is causing fat storage, although you are getting enough protein or maybe more than enough, remember the body will only use what it needs at the time of feeding. A combination of elevated blood sugar, insulin spikes, not enough calories, and very little production of glucogen (Fat burning hormone), could be why you are stalling are gaining. Good luck! Note:  Decrease too many calories too far, slower metabolism. Too many carbohydrates in one serving with a protein will cause fat storage. Too many calories in and not enough out will stall or cause weight gain.

Sorry - what is "IMO"? the rest of your comments make sense & Imu nderstanding the possible reason for stalling. I certainly dont want to throw my off the glucose & insulin levels & really totally dont need the added fat storages :) Thanks for the heads up.
