I know it is a fairly new procedure for the US, but I am interested in hearing from someone who has had the Sleeve for more than 2 years. First let me say that I know it is only a tool and that you must change your habits about eating but I am so scared that I will invest all this money (I have to self pay as my BMI is 33) and in the end my stomach will just stretch back to where it was before or close. I also am wondering if your hunger comes back as well since the body has a way of “righting” itself. I’ve lost and gained more than from 10 - 50 lbs probably 8 times in my life. 7-8 years ago I lost 50 lbs but slowly regained it all over the past 5 ½ years. I have been trying to lose it but it just won’t budge. Well, I can lose and regain the same 10 lbs but I cannot get past that. I just don’t want to have unrealistic expectations. The sleeve seems like it is the best WLS option as I am not a snacker, I’m more of a volume eater (all at dinner) and I like to exercise and do. I am interested in the sleeve because the band seems very temperamental, requires a lot of maintenance and seems like long-term people start to get issues. So, any VSG Old-timers out there that can provide some perspective.
