Pouch emptying too quickly?
Does anyone else have a hard time staying full? I feel like my pouch is still very small but empties very quickly. My surgeon has never been real strict on cutting out carbs or any food groups - his only instructions to me to help me lose the baby weight and get to goal were to eat 3 small, sensible meals a day, have protein at every meal, and no snacking. I feel like I am doing good at eating but still always need a snack around 8pm or I will not be able to sleep because I am so hungry. And it's not head hunger, it's actually my tummy is rumbling hunger. Here is my menu again from yesterday:
Breakfast - Fuzzy navel protein shake and a string cheese
Lunch - Deli turkey and cheese on one slice of whole wheat bread, apple slices with pb
Dinner - Grilled chicken breast, few bites of broccoli, few bites of a side salad
Snack - Slice of cheese with three multigrain crackers
After every small meal I was totally filled up, but totally "un-full" by a half hour later and getting hungry by about two hours later. (I never drink till 2 hours after a meal). So I feel like my pouch is still small b/c I fill very quickly but then it also empties very quickly. Anyone have any suggestions? I could try adding more protein into my dinner, but I'm already very full. Did this happen to anyone else? Anything that can correct it?

One thing might be that you are not chewing well enough meaning things get "stuck" and then clear out leaving you hungry. In other words, better chewing would let you eat more for a meal.
Based on your menu, I will say that it would not keep ME satisfied. Perhaps you need to look for better foods? A protein shake and a string cheese is oh....200 calories. Why not try eating a carton (16oz) of Greek Style Yogurt? The calories on the Fat Free is nearly the same and it is a mushy food so maybe you could eat more at one sitting. Alternatively, you could eat the carton in two sittings having the other half mid-morning as second breakfast.

It's possible that your stoma may have stretched, or not have been made small enough in the first place. Two acquaintances of mine have approached their surgeon with this same issue -- not feeling full for long -- and sure enough, an EGD proved no restriction. One of them is electing to have revision surgery.
I have the same problem, it hasn't been solved by smaller, more frequent meals, unfortunately. Ask your surgeon for a gastro referral for an endoscopy which will measure pouch size, stoma size, rate of emptying, etc. to determine if there is a problem with your plumbing!

Im not sure what your Dr. said about drinking after eating. 2 hrs seems like along time. My Dr. said 1/'2 after eating and 1/2 before eating. May shortening your time to drink after eating would help you feel full longer.
Getting hungry again stinks. I liked not thinking about food so much in the beginning........it was great.
