Lap Band or Rny? My surgery is in 2 weeks... Help!

hey if it helps.....fills are like getting a shot not really painful!!  Also I can say that after 3 years of being banded I am still losing weight and am almost at goal.  I have a friend that had gastric bypass 3 1/2 years ago and it putting her weight back on.....that is what I like about my band if I start to gain it is time for a fill.....
btw...I only have .2cc in a 4 cc band.....ya that is point 2 cc not 2 cc....

Wow, Congrats on your success! I sure hope it won't take me long to get the restriction or "sweet spot" I have heard about..

Becky, Thanks for posting your question!!! I am in the same boat, trying to make the decision. I'm at at 250lbs now and am losing on my own (very slowly). Obesity runs in my family and I am a bit older so I want to use the surgery as a tool. I am leaning towards the lap band but am also hesitant about the fills and the costs.... etc. (All of the concerns you mentioned). What made you finally decide on the band? Two doctors (one being my surgeon) have suggested the band vs. the gastric bypass and which makes me consider it all the more. I have a friend who has had the bypass and is very happy but in my research see that the same weight loss results happen only slower, which I am comfortable with because of the excess skin... concern.
