Help...I've fallen and I can't get up!
Girl,
I am feeling your pain!
I had RNY Feb 2004..got pregnant 9 months post op.. i did fine..but I think it stalled my weight loss. I did loose more after( total of -170) but never reached goal..now I am pregnant again(2 years later) I had gained about 15 lbs and was so depressed. I know 15 isn't a ton.. but it felt like failure to me and nothing fit me.. (brought back all those old feelings of failure) anyway I am currently pregnant again(we have to watch fertility after RNY) and I am gaining and it is so hard. I had lost 7 lbs right before I got pregnant doing fit day or spark people.com tracking every bite of food. doing high protein, low carb, then exercising.I still ate.. allot... probably 2000 calories a day!! but was exercising quite a bit. I lost 7 lbs in one month doing that. I plan to try that again when I have this baby.
BTW....I love Curves if you can afford it. Its such a do able exercise plan.
anyway keep reading and posting. we all can understand.
Take care,
Tricia:-)

Put yourself on a schedule....write it down, write down your exercise, what you eat whether you stay on track or not...it will help you in the long run. Start your blog, write down your feelings, believe me it helps. I have gained 6lbs this month and it freaked me out, but I know why I gained and it stops right here because I'm doing something about it. Love yourself, work on coming back and be who you what to be.

If you spend any time at all on the Grads forum, you will know that you are not alone! There are MANY who have successfully reached goal (or very close) and who have done a great job of maintaining, but there are many (like me) who are struggling! As you can see from my signature, I gained a significant amount of weight. However, I have kept off well over 100 lbs., I've stopped gaining, I've lost a little bit, and I'm hanging in there (still working on it).
I think the main thing is not to panic & not to drastically diet or be a total saint w/ your food. If you want to do the 5-day pouch thing (www.5daypouchtest.com), maybe it will help. (I did it once--I lost weight that week--but I re-gained it--I think it backfired on me in the long run.) Others have done it and thought it was great. For me, I do better when I just go back to basics (I know--boring). Same old, same old . . . protein firs****er/Crystal Light (at least 30 min. after eating), good carbs, exercise . . . you know the drill. I use www.thedailyplate.com, which I like better than fitday.com. And if I don't do it all perfectly, I don't throw in the towel. And I don't expect myself to suddenly be exercising like I did when I was faithful to it--I just make small goals. Obviously, I'm having my share of ups & downs--or I'd be back down where I want to be--but I'm just saying that when I eat & exercise the way I should, my surgery still works.
Keep coming back. Here's a quote a copied from somewhere: "You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there." (Edwin Louis Cole)
