Great number on the protein and really low on the calories (IMHO) but how is that working for you? You maintaining or headed down?

Did you make the stuffed pepper? How did you low-carb it? Just asking cuz that's one of our favorite dinners. I have two peppers in the fridge now that I may make for dinner tomorrow.

I still have 50 lbs to lose and had stopped losing in January, so I finally decided to keep the same number of calories but lower my carbs, and it's working! I've lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks, so I'm thrilled. I guess I'm one of those people who needs to eat low carb for life. I certainly feel wonderful eating this way, so it feels like I'm on the right track. I'm battling a couple of problems that I'm really working on: I'm not exercising like I need to be, especially resistance training. If I did, I could increase my calories. Also, I am totally addicted to coffee and am working on tapering it off and quitting, because it's not doing me any favors and it's adding calories and carbs to my day, since I always add half and half. I guess it's my transfer addiction!

As for the stuffed pepper, I browned a mixture of ground beef and turkey, added a chopped onion and some crushed tomatoes, and cooked that down until the liquid evaporated. I seasoned with 1 bouillon cube and black pepper, then "glued" everything together with a mixture of cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, and a light sprinkling of flax meal. I had parboiled green pepper halves in boiling water for 3 minutes previously, which cuts down on baking time. I then spooned the mixture into each pepper half, put them face up in a baking pan, at 350 for about 30 minutes. To be honest, it was too fatty-I should have used way less cheese and maybe added a beaten egg as a binder instead. I know it was too fatty actually, because I got the sweats afterwards and had mild dumping. But, it was delicious!

Oh...That looks like it would work really well. AND i have all that stuff in my fridge already, including the flax seed...I bet hubby would LOVE it. He doesnt' have a choice cuz that's what Im making tomorrow for dinner. Captive audience, so to speak.

I'm addicted to caffeine too...I put sugar free swiss miss in and it actually adds a couple grams of protein...And then I have caffeinated sugar free drink mix too...Power Edge has caffeine.

I know I'm addicted but I'm not ready to quit yet...Too many years and too much to get done right now, those aren't good excuses but they're all I have. LOL

I really can't spend much time sitting at the computer any more...I have to get up and walk around at least several times a day. Makes it hard to work at a desk job, that's for sure. Thankfully, I can deliver mail around rather than have the regular mail service do it.

I'm not sure if I had a distal..When I questioned the surgeon on how much was bypassed, he said they don't measure so much as just separate it at the natural bend so that it won't try and re-route itself. I'm okay with whatever amount was bypassed. My labs came back good. I'm happy.

Can I tell you, I tried something different today and it completely backfired on me?!

So, instead of my usual breakfast from Dunkin Donuts, I decided to try making a big ol' Chocolate Muscle Milk protein shake and taking that to school with me instead of trying to eat in the car and getting crumbs everywhere (I hate that!) since I never have time to eat my breakfast when I'm at school.

DIS-AS-TER!!!  A morning without caffeine is not a good morning for me.

By 10:30, I was dragging.  I wasn't hungry, but I was foggy as all get out.  I had to leave school during my planning period and zip around the corner to the Dunkin Donuts to get some iced coffee.  After that, I started feeling human again.  So here's my day:

B - Chocolate Muscle Milk Shake - 40+ g protein (2 scoops protein, 2 scoops upcal D, 2 c. crushed ice, 1 c. half & half)
S - lg. iced coffee w/ cream & sugar
L - 1 c homemade chicken salad on 5 huge multigrain crackers, 2 ribs celery with peanut butter, 2 milano cookies
S - 1 package of Tandycakes (the peanut butter ones)
S - another chocolate muscle milk shake (because, yum?!)
D - London Broil (6 oz, maybe more), garlic sauteed mushrooms, 6 spears asparagus, 1/2 mashed potatoes, 1 brownie (homemade), 1 glass red wine, 1 small glass port.

And that's it!  Dinner was a masterpiece - DH grilled the London Broil outside, and he did it medium-rare, leaning more toward the rare side, just how I like it.  I roasted the asparagus in the oven in olive oil, salt, & pepper, then drizzled balsamic vinegar all over it when it came out.  My DD took seconds of the asparagus because she liked it so much.  I've got the most awesome lunch out of this for tomorrow.  I love leftovers!!!

Isn't it NICE when DH makes dinner. I love that. Mine makes dinner just about every night but tomorrow I'm gonna spoil him and make it cuz he's having cataract surgery.

I know what you mean about changing your morning intake. I do oatmeal each and every morning and it warms up my pouch. If I dont' do the oatmeal, the day is ruined. I don't get enough protein and I don't get enough calories.

LOVE my coffee!

I know it's hard when you have part of a sandwich..I just figure how many slices of whatever type of bread and break it down.

The walking is a good thing. We set up our bedroom with the treadmill and exercise stuff, waiting for my birthday present of the Wii with the Play and Fit game cartridges...I'll be a gammer by the weekend. LOL.

Good numbers...Keep up the good work!
