XPost from last week: Ever feel like a stricture but it's not?

OK, now I'll ask the more experienced folks since I'm no further than when I started.

I'm 5 months out of lap RNY and down 81 pounds.  About 4 weeks ago I started feeling a pressure in my chest when I ate.  I guess it's similar to what happens if you eat too fast, bites too big or don't chew enough.  Well, my eating habits are good and still the pressure happens.  Evenutally it progressed to slider foods and fluids.

Endoscopy was completely normal, manometry (which measures the swallowing pressures and looks for spasm) was normal.  CT scan is pending, but if it had shown anything they would have called my internist by now).  Bloods all normal.  One gal on the RNY board suggested the same symptoms when her B1 drops.  I will check that asap.

Any ideas?  I'm eating and drinking less and less...certainly not enough to be healthy.  The docs are all working on this, but not fast enough for my taste.  Thus I thought I'd throw it out here.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Zook, I had this happen pre-surgery and had those symptoms..had an upper GI nothing showed up..went into surgery and had a moderate sized hernia....since surgery 2 years ago I had an endoscopy for gastritis and another hernia was noted but I had none of the symptoms I had had the first time. Also had a gall bladder problem pre-surgery which sounds like that too. Sounds like you have had a thorough work up ..I hope you find out soon

Gall bladder was out in 1996.  Hernia?  I don't know.  I'm seeing GI with all the tests to talk about what do to from here.  Glad you're doing well and thanks for sharing your history.  I'll post the "mystery diagnosis."  :)
