Not sure about RNY. But my surgeon has no restriction on that kind of thing. Only problem, sometimes the pills are TOO big. I always take my pills with applesauce, so my tummy never gets upset. Last time I needed a major pain med, my PCP ordered it in liquid form. He is such a sweetie, and very understanding!

I took flexeril for several weeks following ankle reconstruction surgery earlier this year. It's a good muscle relaxer but it is also a depressant. It's not an experience I care to repeat.
Call your Dr. and ask, there is never a question too stupid, especially when taking meds. For my Fibromyalgia pain, the Dr. has increased my vitimin B pill to 6 a day.(2 in the am, 2 at lunch, and 2 at bedtime) I've been doing this for 3 weeks and am surprised at the difference in how I feel. Hope this helps you............call your DR.
