Good Morning Everyone!

I am writing this post to ask if any of you know of any anti inflamatories we can take other than Tylenol?  I have a very bad muscle pain that has lasted for three days now and the Tylenol Arthritis is just not releiving it.....Is CELEBREX permitted for us RNY's?

Please answer....I NEED SOME RELIEF!

Thanks

Not sure about RNY. But my surgeon has no restriction on that kind of thing. Only problem, sometimes the pills are TOO big. I always take my pills with applesauce, so my tummy never gets upset. Last time I needed a major pain med, my PCP ordered it in liquid form. He is such a sweetie, and very understanding!

I took flexeril for several weeks following ankle reconstruction surgery earlier this year.  It's a good muscle relaxer but it is also a depressant.  It's not an experience I care to repeat.

My surgeon prescribed Celebrex for some arthritic pain I was having when I wasn't too terribly far out from surgery.  She said it was safe for us unlike other nsaids.  I just took it for a short time.

Call your Dr. and ask, there is never a question too stupid, especially when taking meds.  For my Fibromyalgia pain, the Dr. has increased my vitimin B pill to 6 a day.(2 in the am, 2 at lunch, and 2 at bedtime)  I've been doing this for 3 weeks and am surprised at the difference in how I feel.  Hope this helps you............call your DR.

My surgeon said NO WAY. She said that  Narcotics are ok.  ( legal ones of course!!) I have a standing prescription for Tylenol with Codine.  I don't use it that often, just when regular tylenol isn't enough.
