I'm gaining it back....please help me!
All the advice you have gotten so far is great! Weight gain is common throughout the wls procedures and many times, it is caused by our inability to keep on track. Yes, the wls tool we were given is still there and works alot more affectively than our pre-wls bodies.
I am doing alot of investigating and research into the "mental" behaviors among our wls community in relationship to food addictions, eating disorders, triggers etc. Alot of times we try to solve our issues with wls and think all is well when we haven't addressed our thinking processes and what really triggered our obesity.
I know this hasn't really given you any answers, really, but hang in there and do your best to get back into healthy eating and movement.

Vicki, I am so sorry about your regain. I can't give you any more advice than everyone else.
I have known 2 people who had RNY who gained it back, but that was YEARS ago when RNY was pretty new. But that was one of the reasons I chose lap band. I can go get 'tightened up' if I lose restriction and begin eating too much and gaining.
I do know that ANY WLS is a tool and we still have to be the ones doing the work. Re-read all the books you read when you began (I'm sure there were a lot of them), look yourself in the eye and have a stern talk, and be honest with yourself. If you can't exercise, you have to eat less. No other way around it!
Good luck!
Vicki this time last year, I was in your position of having gained 25 pounds. It was like bam! I did not get a grip on things until the 1st of this year.
I went on that 5 day pouch test....(look at the board for the link) and never looked back. It has been almost a year now since I have eaten any bad carbs. I only get my carbs from veggies and one serving of fruit.
Something I never thought I would do was weigh and measure food, but you know my idea of a serving and the reality of it was two different things. I never weighed and measured food in my life.
Since that 1st day of the pouch test...I have lost nearly 60 pounds. I never had a goal weight in mind...but thrilled to be able to say my 8 jeans taste better than anything I could ever shove in my mouth.
I do understand that foot surgery can impede your exercise, but you have to stop the crazy hand to mouth exercise. It is going to get you back to your previous weight.
I am no WLS model person for sure...I just found what worked for me. I strongly suggest you do that 5 day pouch thing...it really works and it shrinks your pouch back down for sure as I could eat like horse too.
I am over 6 years out....failed around a little over the 5 year mark. It is really hard and as you know the further you are out...the reality sets in that yes "we" have to continually watch our weight in order for "us" to be successful.
It is really okay....you came here poured your heart out and that is a brave "big" step for sure...admitting. I was ashamed and was in huge denial....so you are not alone...and I know there are plenty of people out there who applaud you for your honesty.
I sincerely hope that you get a grip on your eating habits because we did this surgery for our health....that is the most important thing girl!
Good luck!

Knowing that you succeeded in losing 60 lbs 5 years post op... gives me even more hope and determination that I can do the same 4 years out.
You are my hero! And you look damn good for 54!
You go girl!
Hugs!

What a difference a day makes! Today, I have enjoyed Chicken Broth, Jell-O, and a protein shake made from water and whey protein mix. Nothing fancy......just the basics today! Tonight, dinner will be some beef broth with Jell-O and then later while watching football, I'll have some more broth.
The worst part is cooking for my husband, but I have dealt with it. Naturally, I am married to a man who does NOT have to watch his weight. That's about all I have to say about that! Haha!
So....day 1 of the pouch test is almost over and tomorrow, I'll repeat the same!
I had enough energy today to put my Christmas Tree up! No carbs = not tired! It's so strange how that gives us more energy!
Thanks to all who wrote and gave me advice! Yall mean the world to me! I am on my way to lose this extra 65 pounds!!!
