What multi vit do you take? I am a 3 yr RNY grad & have been wondering what daily vit everyone else takes. I like the flintstone chewables. lol. but I'm sure I should be taking something else. I did buy 1 bariactric chewable but it is sour & I HATE sour things. So how about you, what do you take?

I take:
Daily:
2 multi's
vit e
b1
b12
iron(Rx)

weekly:
folic acid (Rx)

monthly:
B1 and B12 shot

Just so you are aware there have been a lot of posts about flinstones and comparing them to other vitamins. They just dont stack up. Have you been getting bloodwork to check your levels to make sure they are in range? There are a lot of health problems that I could of avoided if I had just taken all the vitamins that I should.

I get mine from VitaCost.com.
I am now taking the Country Life Adult Multi Chewable.  I break it in half and take half in the morning and half at night.

I was taking the Country Life children's chewable twice a day, but thought that I'd try the adult as it has potassium and a few other things that adults need that are not in the children's formula:

I also take chelated chew iron, NSI chewable calcium Citrate, Vitamin D3 (labs are low), B-100, B-12 sublingual, Magnesium Oxide, and a probiotice (for gas).

Tell someone that you love them!

Kirkland multi X 2 (separate)
about 6000 mg calcium citrate
vit D3
B complex
200 mg zinc
400mg potassium
no vit A at this time
2000 mcg vit K1
150 mcg vit K2
1000 mg vitc
1600 IU vit E

These are all sorted and divided into 4 groups. No, not everyone needs some of that stuff. I didn't even include the "optionals", like cranberry for UTI and so on.

The ones above are matched to my most current labs

5 mg copper
300 mg iron
1000 mg vit C
(this is one group, taken with fruit, an hour apart from any of the above)

1 ml B12 IM weekly, by choice. Never was good with chewables or lozewnges.

But I've had lots of time to get my schedule and dosages organized to put my labs where I want them.

You asked what multi we take. My simplified answer would be: the 2 Kirkland multi (not chewable, not Mature, not Preium, just regular-- I like that formula the best)
calcium
iron
A, D, E, K
B1
B12
zinc

those are the basics

I take a Flinstones vitamin and eat a ton of heathy food.  I probably wouldn't need that but I take it to make sure everything is ok.  My labs have always been greal.  Daisy

All this time I had been taking Centrum Chewables...and I still have a hard time getting my levels to stay reasonably good.  If I do not take my vits ( I forget more than I care to admit)...I feel it...

Well, one day I decided to look up every ingredient in my Centrum and I found that my usual deficiencies are A, D, E,  zinc, selenium, iron, magnesium....Centrum uses fat soluble A, E and Vit D2, not Vit D3!  It has calcium carbonate and not calcium citrate...It doesn't have NEAR enough magnesium in it...But the Iron is carbonyl ...YAY...but the calcium and iron in the same pill kinda cancel each other out...So I have come to the conclusion that Centrum is NOT a good vitamin for me with my history....All the B Vits and water soluble vits are so cheap anyway...I take a B complex so there is almost NO reason at all for me to even take Centrum....It's a total waste for me.

I also looked at the vits in Flintstones and was very surprized that THIS vitamin uses dry forms of the fat soluble vits!  Even though it is missing a few adult vits, like selenium, and Vit K...It has vits that I will most likely absorb better!  So that was quite an eye opener for me....I never actually looked at each ingredient until I realised that my multi is just NOT working....

I want to prevent more deficiencies or chronic ones and so I am taking all my vits individually as it is the only way I have been able to control my vit levels...(I was FINE for 4 years!)  Or so I thought.. I didn't know that my levels were slowly getting lower and lower...

I did just order Bariatric multis from Vitalady a few days ago...along with a bunch of individual ones like Dry A, Dry D3, calcium citrate, Tender Iron....I also take Dry E too...I don't want to be sick again....Vit deficiencies have really weird and dibilitating symptoms that when they hit you...you can barely function.  And if you are stupid like me and ignore the symptoms they get so bad you forget what it feels like to feel good until you just start raising your levels and that's when you really feel so good and so STUPID for not taking care sooner!

I say jus****ch your labs closely and take what works for you...if you see a vitamin/mineral getting low (COMPARE old labs!) Just take a little extra supp of that particular vit....and RETEST within a few months!  It's a pain in the butt...but a small price to pay for health!
