Do you still have some FABITS (fat habits) that are hard to shake?
On top of what everyone else said, one of my fabits is eating when I'm not hungry. I hate that fabit! It's beome more of a struggle the further out I get. Sometimes I still can't just walk away from the kitchen when I know I'm not hungry! Changing my way of thinking and how I see myself still isn't where it should be, but I'm working on it.

Hi all,
I enjoy this string of posts so much because it stresses our need for support. Thinking like we do is a hard to change.
One thing you may want to try with a trusted friend is called body tracing. This is a therapy that is used alot with people suffering with eating disorders. You have to find a very large piece of paper, body size, and tape to the wall. Stand flush to the wall and have someone trace your body. This will give you a rough outline of how you really look. It's a real eye opener!
I am eight years out and my eyes and brain finally came together. It will for you too. Give yourselves some time and you will find yourself more focused and less like your old self.

That would be a cool technique to try, and a great reminder in soo many ways.
I have always been of the "need to know" club as far as telling pepole about the surgery and most folks simply don't need to know. And we recently moved to the midwest, so no one knows out here. While it's the first time in my life I've been around folks who didn't know about or feel the need to comment on this lifelong struggle I've had. WHile I love that, I don't feel like I'm hiding this big secret, that means I am on my own, no support. So here I am, back at OH, and glad to be here!
I really am glad to have you all here to chat and share with! Keep the Faith, Gang!
