Hi guys!
Haven't been on for quite some time.  Just found out I need more B-12.  What is everyone using?  I heard there is a spray...how is that?  Any aftertaste?  Thanks guys!  Theresa

Hi Theresa,

I take a shot a month ( doc prescribes, hubby shoots me up, LOL) and 1 sublinguil tab a day (sublinguils come from Walmart and are cheap)...My B-12 numbers run at the top of the range and have from my 1st blood work...

I'm not sure how much I should take.  I found out my number is 116 and I guess your B-12 is supposed to be between 180 and 914!  No wonder I'm sooooo tired all the time.  Plus I have to take more iron.  I just found out my numbers by calling the Dr.'s office, but only talked to the nurse so far, so I don't know what the Dr. suggests yet.  Am hoping I can just take something by mouth.  Mmmm.....any thoughts?  Were your numbers low as well?  Thanks for the info so far though!!

Plenty of studies showing brain damage occurring at levels of 400. New studies say the bottom is 800!

If you were mine, I'd have you shoot daily til the number gets closer to 1000, then weekly to hold it. Shots are the chepeast. I pay $2.71 for 12 (or more--depends on who fills the rx) shots. On insurance. Of insurance, I paid $7 at Costco for a 30-shot vial.

The other choice is sublinguals, but not from where you are this moment. Sublinguals come in doses as small as 500 mcg up to 10,000 mcg. Subs can be either cyanacobalamin (good enough for most ppl) or methylcobalamin, which is the "better" form, more expensive, and even so, still doesn't work for everyone.

You are so seriously deficient, I'm kinda wondering about neuropathy, memory, brain sharpness?

If there is any chance of getting shots (very often), do that while you buy the highest subs you can find. If you can shoot yourself, so much better.

My dh & I do each other weekly, and still can't quite reach a level of 1000! Once it's down, you work forever to get it back up and then hold it.

B12 cannot go toxic. So, it's not like you'll ever get too much, or reach too high a level.

I take Trader Joe's sublingual and supplement as needed with injections I give myself.  I can always tell when I need the boost.

I take sublingual B12.  I buy mine at Walgreens - about $10 for a bottle that lasts over a month.  I think the sublingual is actually kind of good tasting!  A fruity taste.  You leave it under your tongue for at least 30 seconds (I usually wait 60 seconds) and then swallow the residue. It's not bad at ALL! Highly recommend!  My B12 was REALLY low a few months back.  My doctor said to take sublingual, and all is well now.

I got a acrip from the doc for the injections.  A 30 shot vial is inly $16.99 at the drugstore and the syringes are less that $10 for 20 of them.  I take one or two shots a month and have never had any problems.
