I really am not new to this site, but i couldnt remember my old password.  I had my surgery on Aug 16, 2004 so i am almost 5 years out.  For the last 3 days i am in the most incredible pain when i eat. its right under my breastbone.  I get nausea and i throw up which makes me  feel better.  the first time it happened i thought i was having a heart attack.  the pain feels like churning glass.  anything have any idea if this can be a stricture

You need to see adoc - can be number of things - stricture, ulcer, etc.  You need to see a doc.

could be your gallbladder, if you haven't had it removed yet.  You need to see your doctor

See your doctor as this could be any number of problems such as a peterson's hernia causing an obstruction (just an example).

Would this Peterson's hernia show on a CAT scan or an endoscopy?

I had the same type of pain a couple of years ago. I too thought it was probably an ulcer. I was way wrong. It was a vitamin defeciency, B1 and B12. Do you take your vitamins?
