Need to get back on Track, packing on pounds
I posted to the main board and then wondered if this would be a better site. I had my surgery in 2002, and have put on about 40 pounds. I need to get back on track and get some weight off. Does anyone have any help in "tricking" our bodies back to the immediate post surgery feelings.
Has anyone tried the 5 day post op diet.
Like most Morbidly O folks I have worked my way around any diet I have been on, and sure enough I am starting to do the same regarding this signiture. And it's been so long that it's not so easy to recapture.

Sounds like the mental journey for you is harder than the physical one. I haven't tried the 5 day pouch test but I hear it's good to get you back under control. I keep strict count of all that I eat and make allowances for the things I want to eat when I have them planned..
I also journal all my food and intake on fitday.com. Some people use daily plate. I figure you can't plot your course out of any area without knowing where you are so knowing what you are eating and how much is a good place to start. It gets you back to measuring your food and getting in the practice so that you can eye-ball the amount that you should be having. Serving sizes are critical to keeping track of intake.
No tricks at all but alot of hard work. 40 pounds isn't alot, comparitively speaking and you can do it, if you want to. Just start with small things and do those and then add more things.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I know what you are going through, as I am in the same situation.
I've noticed that I'm using more bread than I've used in the past four years; even the whole grain stuff is not good for me.
I've stopped exercising; so now I have to MAKE myself go for my daily walk. I'd gotten out of that habit after 18 months living in an unfriendly atmosphere for outdoor exercise. Now I'm back in CA, so it's a lot easier than it was in NV.
Journaling will be the best way to keep ourselves in check--good luck!
