OMG I am a GRAD

It just hit me when I stumbled onto this board. Found it a long time ago and forgot about it.  It was a huge WOW moment. Been reading a bunch of recent posts.   I too have had "normal" labs and just had my Vit D tested. It was low, low, low.  Upped the calcium and using Vitaladys Dry D-50 daily until next blood draw due end of July.

Thoughts on my mind.
1. Got a bone density scan  and waiting for results. How do you "read" those things anyway?
2. Thinking about Poo a lot lately. Been playing with shredded wheat which seams to get things moving quickly.  Any thoughts?
3. Volume.  Some days it seems like I can eat way more than "normal" other days I am shocked that it seems I havent eaten anything volume wise.

What thoughts are on YOUR mind?

1) I'm getting one of those this year after I talk to my PCP at my annual this year. I'll be getting my labs (third year) in July...soon.

2) I drink plenty of water and get fiber. Not white carbs (which I believe stop you up) but good carbs. And occasional sugar free candy with sugar alcohols..You know the ones. The ones that say "too much of this product will have a laxative effect." LOL.

3) You'll be able to eat more of things that are mostly water like fruits and veggies. You'll also be able to eat more of "slider" foods. But if you eat your dense protein FIRST and you'll feel fuller for longer.

Other than those items, WELCOME! Nice to see you around. I'm a big Nascar fan too. We have a saying at our house...ANYONE but Kyle Busch. I know you can appreciate that. LOL. My driver is Junior, dh's driver is Jimmy Johnson...my son's fav is Kevin Harvick..Chevy's all.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I get my labs done July 5th. I will be 4 years out. I have to take double of vitamin d. And 2000 units of vitamin c. B 12 shots once a week. Never had a bone scan. I still can't eat much. After almost 4 years I hadn't eaten enough to streatch out any of my pouch. I still can only eat about 3 bites every hour or 2. It takes me all day to eat. But thank God I can still eat. I don't like food at all. I am so glad you are doing well. Just get that vitamin D up. The doctor told me to get into light. Not the sun but light. I love the dark. I have black trash bags over my windows in my room. I don't want my kids to turn out like their crazy ass mom.

You know, up in northern states the sun only shines for 8 hours a day if at all in the winter. The sun goes down at 8 pm and doesn't come up again until 9 or 10 the next morning. My grandmother used to pester us kids to go out in the sunshine even when it was freezing cold outside. The sun was her remedy for "cabin fever" and it's true. Sunshine is important to keep you from getting depressed. There are more sanitariums up in Washington State than any other state because it's way north AND it rains nearly every single day up there...People get so depressed.
