Help Me!! I NEED to get back on track!
Hi - I haven't posted in forever. I will be 4 years out Aug 22nd. I lost just over 100 lbs and maintained at 155 for the first 21/2 years. Then I crept up to 163ish & stayed there. In the last 6 months I stayed at @165. In the last 2 weeks I have gained steadily till today I am at 174.8. I swore I would never hit 160 again! My life is pretty stressful right now - money & marriage problems. I am not eating that much at a time, but am eating the wrong things. I tend to eat little bits at a time until I finally am stuffed. I crave crunchy salty - so bbq chips are FAbulous! (not!!). I also am trying to wean off carbs. Doing all the wrong things, I know. I need to get back on track! I wanted to be back in the 150s for a wedding this weekend, and have been trying for a month. Seems like I am gaining daily. Help! I need encouragement & the board again (thought I could handle this on my own - yeah, right!). Suggestions, please, before this gets any more out of control! Thanks!
Why don't you try a liquid protein diet for a few days. Drink protein shakes, as many as it takes, for a few days. And, get rid of all bad CARBS in your life. Some people eat a small salad and a little dense protein for one meal and then the rest shakes. I truly believe that carbs are the enemy - get them out of your life. When I say carbs, I don't mean veggies and fruit.
I'm 3-1/2 years post-op and drink 2-3 protein shakes per day and then eat veggies and small amounts of other foods.
Good luck. It is quite a journey.

I've had a regain too, and what's working for me is just paying attention to what I eat. I had pretty much been eating whenever I had a space to put something, and the pounds started piling on pretty quick. Now that I'm watching, I'll notice myself heading toward the kitchen to get something to eat way before it's time, or grabbing some nuts as I'm walking through the kitchen just because they're there. I've lost about 4 pounds this week, just scheduling my snacks and being more aware of what I eat. You haven't had such a regain that you can't lose it before long. I've had a bad habit of waiting until I've gained 100 pounds or so, and then wondering how to get rid of them.
