Pregnant grad seeks accountability partners LOL!
Hi all! It's been a while since I've been on the site at all and I'm SOO glad to see the accountability thread is still up and running. I'm 5 years out, almost 20 wks pregnant, and struggling with my weight and food choices. I was content being on the heavier end of my weight spectrum before becoming pregnant (5'2" 138-145lbs) because of my build, but I know I'm getting a bit outta control. At my 12wk visit, I was 159 and 163 four weeks later...my OB is well aware of my WLS and told me I'd be fine if I maintained for the duration of my pregnancy. Problem is, at the rate I'm going I'll be big as a house by the time I'm due! The other problem is my appetite for carbs has become insatiable...I eat a bowl of cereal 2-3 times a day, been known to do some very bad things to entire pineapples and bunches of bananas, and have enjoyed a steaming bowl of buttered egg noodles more than I care to share at the moment!
I know the rules, but it seems like my eating is on auto pilot here lately and I need to get back in the swing of things and make better food choices. I haven't been physically at all since becoming pregnant...my anemia had gotten so bad I was passing out and could barely get outta bed the first 8wks, but according to both my OB and hematologist, my anemia has miraculously improved to low normal after over 2 years IV iron therapy. That's great, but I still feel tired all the dang time...this pregnancy is nothing like my first so I'm hoping this is my girl! Anyhoo, I will be posting here soon enough, just don't chide me for my daily dose of Apple Jacks...thanks guys!
