I've been known to lose a couple of pounds just from cutting out salt and upping the water for a day. LOL. But it's usually going to even out later. Makes you feel good, though! Still, if you don't lose a pound for a week, don't get discouraged. The losses don't stay constant.

It was an okay day...but I did eat one cookie.. oh and  the sauces and dressings....

OPC-3 drink w/d-ribose and calcium

SB protein bar/cereal bar cinn/raisin

one large Tim Hortons tea with lemons and splenda

2 slices of lean turkey breast

1 slice of ultra sharp cheddar cheese (great lakes brand-To die for)

1/2 cup of lettuce with pecans and Newmans own light rasberry dressing (just a drizzle)

one small cut out cookie-a stocking- with icing

Out to dinner to a rest called "Black & Blue" with the DH (no kids!! WOO HOO)

small salad with light dressing (only ate a quarter) took home

1 kobe beef meatball (came with 4 took other three home)

2 bites of steak with gorgonzola cream sauce (Hubbys dish)

4 waters throughout the day

Tea at home later

I did okay, but I could have done a little better...

The crazy part...i am down to 145.5 my lowest weight ever!!  Of course the stomach flu that went through the house on Christmas eve and the day after Christmas didnt help!!!

Just happy to see it on the scale...Made me smile...okay I danced a little too!!

Yeah for the stomach flu! Just Kidding...That usually causes some dehydration. Upping the water will put on some false weight but it's still better to have extra water in the mix.

Those sauces can be a real killer. The numbers will catch up on you..I put reduced calorie thousand island instead of mayo on alot of things now..cheese is always good but it does add more calories than protein..

Your list looks really good. Keep up the good work. See ya.

Everything you said is so true!

I have been pushing fluids because I know the whole household was dehydrated.  I was making everyone drink G2 to get their electrolytes(sp?) back up, then water.  It kicked all our butts!  No fun for sure!  Wonder how long it takes to bounce back?

I agree with you on the sauces!  Try to always eat the lo cal offering...

But let me tell you about that gorgenzola cream sauce, it was amazing!!I probably had a 1/2 a tsp of it but I know the cal had to be crazy high!!  Sometimes for me just a taste is enough!  I have learned to be able to stop with a taste.  It was my husbands entree so I had a big bite I cut into two.  Do you ever do that?  My husband jokes that he really gets the benefit of our system because I only have a bite.  He had a key kime pie for dessert.  I had none knowing I had the g. cream sauce.

For me the weighing myself everyday keeps me in check.  Do you find this for you?  I dont let it become an obsession.  Every morning at the same time with underwear on.  Then I write the number on my little calendar.  It works for me.  It keeps me honest!  I made my goal of 149 last week and I couldnt believe it!  I was so happy.

Thank you to all of you *****spond to these posts!  Keep it coming!  I learn so much & love it!

Good job on the G2. For some of us, it's got alittle too much sugar usually but it's okay, especially if you're sick! I was extremely lucky this year. I didn't get the flu but got bronchitis instead..and caught it early because I see my allergist each week and get an allergy shot...he was ALL over the wheezing..

I weigh every morning too! As soon as I get up and go to the bathroom. It's a habit now. It was a while before I could do this and panic over a pound up..I had to decide that it wasn't the NUMBER but my reaction to the number that was wrong. And I could think myself out of panicking when I'd think over what I ate the previous day...especially if it was salt heavy. That salt is a killer for the number on the scale.

I know what you mean about the hubby and sharing. He gets 95% of any of that stuff. We split meals when we go out all the time. Steak and eggs for breakfast with cottage cheese instead of hashbrowns and rye toast (or biscuits and gravy for him!) it works really well for  us.

The g sauce sounds actually pretty good for you. cheese, cream..it's all got some protein in it and with just alittle for taste, it serves a purpose for just the taste..that's all it takes!

Dawn:

What you said is sooo good!!!! Not the number but the REACTION to the number.  I think that is the key for keeping yourself in check.  You see the number and evaluate.  I had salty food so I know its going up!  Its like you have this silent conversion (Or out loud if you prefer : )) with your self and say, "Self, you know you ate A and because of A know the number may go up" "Be okay with it and say you are going to do better today"  Thats the only way I can do it.  Especially during my period or anything else I know is going to make it go up.  But having that check makes me know accountability is coming one way or another.

G2 (which is the low sugar option) is okay if I cut it with water.  For me, its half g2 half water.  The kids and hubby just drink it straight.  I was also wondering if other people had the husband thing with restaurants.  It just works and I love it!

Yes, I have had the bronchitis too!  That stinks!  You were very lucky!  If they dont catch it fast you know it goes right into pneumonia (sp??Ugggg) for me.  So glad you got it in time! Weekly allergy shots???Cats???

Yes the G sauce was probably a good option, cheese & cream and since I didnt have a lot fine.  But the salt....UGGGGGG!  If I had what my husband ate I would have probably been up at least 4 lbs.  Like you the salt just kills me.  I have fibro and it affects how I feel, especially my joints.  I have to watch.

My latest snack food that I love is   Wasa  Multigrain Crispbread and a triangle of Laughing cow light cheese one piece schmeered on top.  Ever have any??? So good and I love the way it tastes!  Sometimes I just need a healthy crunchy treat...whats yours???

6 years ago I started out getting four allergy shots, three times a week. I was allergic to just about everything that grows here, including nut tree pollen and all the weeds, horses...all the grasses and three out of four mold spores..I was a mess! I had already had the flu and had it turn into pneumonia. They started out giving me a flu shot AND a pneumonia shot. After six years and three evaluations, I'm only allergic to cats and possibly rye grass. Not much chance of getting rid of the cat allergy. I have cats!

My treat of choice is a sandwich lately. Because I can't really handle the bread, I've been eating sandwiches, what they call a wrap. Wrapped in a lettuce leaf. It can get messy and I really missed the bread. I discovered Oroweat Sandwich thins...hardly any actual bread and only 100 calories. For crunchy snacks, roasted soy nuts or honey roasted peanuts. There's also roasted chickpeas too. That comes from the website: www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. Shelly is amazing!

Tomorrow for our New Years party I bought shrimp. That's my nibbly of choice...shrimp and ****tail sauce...yum. I'll have wheat thin crackers (low fat) with cheese and ham slices and cream cheese spread...I better start working on that now! LOL.
