facial flushing after taking iron????

Hi there...does anybody get really bright red facial flushing (mine also goes down my neck and back) after taking iron? I am currently taking bariatric advantage and/or Welllese liquid, depending on whether or not I can chew on a given day (TMJ/tmd and swallowing disorder not related to surgery). Also horrible itch. I take it by itself, sometimes with a tablespoon of applesauce or similar to have something on my stomach. It's a similar experience to when i was taking niacin and had to stop that because the itching and flushing was so intense......alternatives??? solutions???? thanks
Heme iron like proferin may be less of a problem for you.
