Topic: RE: What's everybody working on?
I have been writing for years. I currently have one science fiction novel (about 90,000 words) in the process of editing. It is a three book series. I have started another project - young teen reading - so I stay pretty busy in my extra time.

Writing comes naturally to me. I love to write and most of my family forgot I even wrote a book. I really don't expect to get rich - as I just love to write as a hobby.  I would love to see my book in print, so a self-publishing would benefit me.  If it leads to something bigger, fine with me.

My novel has been like ten years in the making. Like I said, it is just a hobby for me so I am in no hurry - I just love to write.

I did some travel writing online - http://brianx.com/author/alee - and also had an article that was published in a deaf print magazine.  Also some articles on the Internet - http://www.useless-knowledge.com/articles/apr/135.html - and this is the one I had published - http://www.useless-knowledge.com/articles/apr/114.html.

So I've been around and just think, it's only a hobby.

If you love to write - then write whatever you want. It doesn't have to be a novel - short stories work wonders and can be placed into a novel. So if you can't get up the word count, write short stories and do it that way. Just don't stop writing if you love it.

This is the correct children's writers toolbar link: http://write4kids.com/toolbar.html There are also children's writer groups at yahoo and msn. Joining the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is a terrific move. They're at http://www.scbwi.org -- and are broken down into regional chapters with meetings and workshops, retreats -- loads of fun stuff. Happy writing and much success! Sheryl

I have just finished creating a Play-by-Email role-playing game called Tyfira. If you like fantasy (swords and magic), like to write creatively, and want to meet some like-minded people, check it out! http://whimsicaldaydreams.com/tyfira/home.html Susan P.S. can't wait to weight myself tomorrow, I've been so busy creating, I've had to remind myself to eat. Much better than last week, when I was so depressed I was crying over lack of potato chips!
