Hi Sheryl, I'm curious what attracts you to the screenplay form. You mention having collaborated before...have you been involved in more than one screenplay project? Did you ever take a class in it or did you just jump in with both feet? Curiosity killed the cat...how cruel, eh? g

Hi Randi! I've just been writing in pen and pencil and Microsoft Word but bought Hollywood Screenplay software this morning. It's just $49. You can get it at http://www.hollywoodscreenplay.com Sheryl

Hi everybody! I'm working on a screen play -- working title: PRIESTLY DUTIES. This is the first one I haven't collaborated on -- just me, my pencil and eraser. I'm having fun with it and am working from an outline of where I want the story to go -- but every once in awhile I change directions. Sheryl

Hi, Nancy. I check this board regularly, but it seems to be used infrequently. I write for children too, although I am, as yet, unpublished. I just returned to writing seriously after 10 years of neglecting the work. I'm almost through the Institute for Children's Literature correspondance course, and I have several pieces submitted to various magazines. I'm trying to break into the market with some short, non-fiction pieces so that I can build up a resume. Hopefully, something will come through soon. It's a tough market to break into. Congratulations on being published as an illustrator! What an achievement. Julie

Hello! Ive just discovered this board...I am an illustrator by trade and have had a children's book that I illustrated published in 2001. Since then, I begun to write books for children as well...and some are just awaiting the drawings to complete them. My life is rather hectic and there's always other projects needing done. However, its something Ive always wanted to do and hope to find the time to do even more. Nancy B

You have to have at least the rough draft finished before you can try to sell your book. Then you have to get an agent, as publishers will not accept any works by a writer that isn't represented by an agent. You can find an agent in books (in Borders or Barnes & Nobles) called The Writers Market or the Writers Handbook. Good luck with the writing!! ~*Becky*~ 5/17/05 -64lbs!!
