I write all the time...mostly journaling and life reflection and anecdotal(?). I'd love to pull it all together and get some focus and write a book eventually. Since my WLS in March I'm getting more serious minded about using my talent.

SCARS As I scrub my body in the shower, Soap suds sliding down the drain, my fingers find the scar on my right hip-- an ancient scar, thick and white, from falling off a steel trash can onto a milk bottle when I was five-- blood mixing with cream and broken glass the babysitter's first day on the job, the horrified, penitent babysitter-- My mother came from work, hugged the shaking woman, told her she still had a job-- told me, from across the room, "Stop crying, you'll be fine." No hug. Another scar.

Sorry to hear about the manuscript rejection letter, but hey no one knows more about disapproval than us (plus size people). So use that strength, dont let the disappointment discourage your spirit, continue to fish the same story to others...good luck with your article. Question; Are u a freelance writer? I am a SAHM and I'm intrested in writing a couple articles/childrens books.

we're here, we're apparently just in hiding. I just got another rejection letter today, so I'm feeling a little loser-like. In the meantime though, I'm working on another article.

Thanks, Randi, that's excellent advice. However, time management is a major problem. Since I wrote that post, I have found a wonderful lady who lives in South Bend who has an autistic son, and she has been a treasure trove of advice and has even read parts of my manuscript. I think I have a pretty good handle on it now, but thanks so much for thinking of me! Ellen
