Can this be used for prolonged periods? I thought most of this stuff was only supposed to be used for a few days but I notice people using it all the time. I have major issues and need somethig that is safe to take every day.

Honestly you should not be on the Miralax for more than 9 days. It's up to you. My doctor has me taken stool softener now 3 times a day for the next 30 days because they put me on iron pills. Which will make even more consipated.

So, I would try an over the counter stool softener, have you used or tried the Smooth Move Tea? After one glass and about 8 to 10 hours later I am going and would have multiple (3 or more) movement.

I used Miralax everyday. My doctor gave me a script for it. I use it as a stool softner. I go daily easy not straining. My doctor told me it was quite safe. I got the idea from Vitalady who has issues for years until she found the solution that works for her.

I don't use miralax - I use magnesium oxide. 400-800 mg every night. But some people have issue with magnesium. For me it is the best natural sstool softener out there .

I've never actually used Miralax, but know a lot of people who use it daily. My 7 year old niece also uses it daily, per her pediatrician. I use stool softeners when i need to, and they've always worked well. Best thing to do is ask your doctor :)

I don't know of anyone will even see this . If you google Miralax, it says it can cause kidney problems with long term use. I googled it when my labs came back and my kidney functions were abnormal.

It scared me because my mom died from kidney failure and she used it every day.
