5 day pouch test
I haven't been on OH in a long time and just started back posting. I had gastric bypass surgery March 2007 and the lowest weight I ever reached was 207lbs which is fine considering I was at 330lbs before surgery. I am now up to 222lbs and is afraid of regaining the weight.
So today I started the 5 day pouch test to regain control over my eating carbs (yummy) habit. I had started back eating french fries nearly everyday and Chipotle 2-3 times a week. So far I'm doing okay. Hopefully this will re-jumpstart my weight loss because I'm now working towards a goal of below 200lbs. Has anyone had success on this test and do you any any pointers for me?
I did that a couple of times and ,... after that every attempt - and I would quit on day 2 or 3.
So now when I try to decarb - I just do that. Low volume - low carb meals. I may try to drink proteins shakes during the day - but then I would have a normal (RNY normal) meal.
I still remind myself that I have a pouch, and that dense food will sit longer in it. Onece in a while I have a day that I allow myslef to be hungry. And eat only pre-measured food. That resets my eyes and my pouch, When I eat something that is nice - I have to remind myslef that I need to stop - get busy with something else (like reading email), wait 10-15 min and most likely I get the "full belly" signal, while my mouth still wants to eat.,
