Good evening BOTT friends,
Spent a gloriously leisurely day just reading and watching tv. Family didn't get together as we usually do for holidays, but I was invited to dinner at my niece's. The menu was enormous, and I politely bowed out. I do believe I could've handled it at this point, but I was too lazy to get up and get dressed, put on my makeup, etc...you know the deal.
I have noticed a little something. I never used protein bars throughout the years after my surgery. I had tasted a couple in my first year post-op, but it was just a little piece of someone else's bar, and they offered it to me to try. Since joining BOTT and seeing Tess's Quest bars, I have been eating them. I've ordered twice and ran out the other day. Let me just say that no, I don't work for the Quest company and I am not endorsing them over any other bar.
But I have found that when I don't have one, my head hunger is increased for the day. I think, rather, I KNOW it's got to be the fiber, because they seem to keep me full longer than just my daily shake. At any rate, it works for me, so I reordered tonight.
I made a beautiful frittata for breakfast this morning. I didn't get to eat a bite. It was in the oven when I asked my granddaughter to take it out in 5 mins, which she did. What I didn't realize is that I had left a stove burner on...and she put the frittata on that burner. I was upstairs and smelled the most acrid odor! My beautiful smoked salmon frittata was burned to a crisp on the bottom. I had to toss the whole thing as there was no need in scraping off the top because the burned odor was penetrated through. Oh well, such is life.....
Anyway, today I ate:
B: 1 c tuna salad, 2 ozs Taco Bell pintos and cheese leftover from last night
S: protein shake made w/coffee and 1 tbsp half&half
L: 2 1/2 oz lean burger on sandwich thin, 1 sl cheese, mustard, 1 tbsp ketchup and a dill pickle
S: apple slices, 6 ozs Light & Fit yogurt
D: 6 ozs grilled fish, 1/2 c brussels sprouts with parmesan and lite pomegranate dressing
Still working on my water for the day. I hope everyone had fun with family and friends today, and sweet dreamzzzz tonight.
Tess
