116.4 - up a bit but must keep eating a little more. Always so weird to say that. Today is DH's official weigh-in day and he is hoping for his goal of 180. He is getting very snacky though lately - the cravings are kicking in. I suggest Glp-1 meds for that which is what saves me, but he says "he is doing it his way". Still feels like a criticism of me using the meds but he says not.
Yesterday was another beautiful beach day, followed by an evening of stuffed quahogs, grilled chicken, salad, and rice. Nice to eat home once in a while. We capped the evening with another fire in the pit. The backyard is really inviting these days.
DSD will leave late this afternoon to stay at a friend's home tonight before continuing on to NJ tomorrow. It has been a nice visit! I will be washing sheets, towels, etc. while she works today in preparation for the 2 SILs arriving this evening. DH has planned the itinerary for them as always. I may suggest some alternatives like going to the place with music in the afternoons tomorrow.
Have a fluctuating Friday!

It's great that DH lost weight his way. The toughest part though ALWAYS, is maintaining it. That's so hard to do white knuckling it when the cravings start. Maybe he will succeed at that also. I sincerely hope he does, as he's worked hard to get here. People do. I was not one of them. So absolutely no apologies from me for using whatever tools are available. You are maintaining with a fairly low dose of a medication that also brings beneficial side effects like inflammation reduction. Seems like a wise choice.
DH hung a bird feeder near the porch for my viewing pleasure. The cardinals arrived and are lovely. The &%$# chipmunk and squirrels, not so much. Over half the food is gone this morning. I suspect chipmunk filling their greedy little pouches. One just had the nerve to run across the porch right now! How dare they! Bird feeder may need to be relocated. I don't care if they eat most of the bird seed, but why do they have to run by my chair?
DH and I a very nice time last night. The weather was perfect. The band wasn't outstanding, but good enough for a fine summer night in a beautiful park. On the way back to the car we stopped at a bar in a Brazilian steakhouse and had a Caipirinha, a thoroughly Brazilian ****tail. Delicious. Tasted like sun and the beach. Their bar menu has small plates of some of the meats they offer for churrasco. Neither of us can eat the regular portions, but these little plates look very tempting. I think that's where we'll go for my birthday lunch on Sunday.
I invited some friends over for dinner in a few weeks, and my co-workers for a happy hour a different day. This means I need to actually do things like dust.
Trying to decide if I should go do my weights or go for a walk instead today. My walking mechanics are not good. Doing the resistance machines is making me stronger but it doesn't really work on stabilizing and balance. I know I could add the treadmill, but I feel like I need to practice on varied terrain so I can do some modest hiking in Scotland. I think weights will win out today, and maybe a walk tomorrow morning.
Maintaining was always impossible for me too. I would get down, then the cravings would take over and I'd go right back up immediately. After VSG, I stayed down for a couple of years but then snacking started my weight creeping up again albeit way more slowly. The meds in low dose keep those cravings away so that I can have just my planned snack and don't want anymore. Must be fulfilling a need in my body.
Cardinals are so beautiful aren't they? So nice when they visit. But the darn squirrels are so enterprising at getting into the bird feeders! I had what was supposed to be a squirrel-proof one at one time and it mostly was but I saw some amazing squirrel gymnastics when they tried to get at it.

199.9 HAHA! I'll take it. I have to admit though, that I felt a tinge of envy when Liz wrote about Mike's expectation of hitting his goal of 180. I am glad his way has worked for him, too. Though I am curious to see how he maintains. I have a feeling that maintaining while on the GLP-1/GIP will be much easier for me than flying solo. I swear having the med has been a game changer. It seems to be my missing link.
My week has been too hectic. The list I created, while stress inducing, has helped me stay on track and get all the sh*t done that needed doing! Best of all is that my dad's move is well organized and I can leave on my cross country drive feeling good about the move to memory care. (I cannot believe it took an entire hour on the phone yesterday with Xfinity to change his service. I'm not impressed by that company whatsoever! It was like an passing an act of congress. I finally disguised my voice as my father's to get it all done. I played the addled nonagenarian quite well, I think. Well, at least good enough to get the job done.)
Other than being overly busy, not much else to tell. I am pleased that I have not let my workouts take a back seat to my chores. I've been to the gym every day this week.
Festive Friday!
Back down under 200! If not now, soon it will stay that way. I do think that at 199 you are more muscular and fit than my DH is at 181.
Yes, Xfinity is a royal pain as is Verizon IMO. I'm glad the list has helped and your Dad's move is in good shape.

Still making sales on FB marketplace. Decluttering our stuff is in full force. Now to get DSD to get rid of her crap. They don't have enough room in their apartment for all their stuff so about 1/3 of our garage has stacks of totes with there stuff and they have taken over a corner of our basement as well. I so noticed her closet in her room here is stuffed to the gills! They had a garage at their last apartment which I guess housed a lot of the stuff but then they also got all the wedding gifts in May to add to what they already had.
Took the DH walk already today. Felt good. I've been lax in resistance training lately because I'm not exercising on the treadmill anymore since it is nice outside and my resistance stuff is downstairs. Out of site, out of mind you know.
Fire pit sounds nice Liz. We might have to do that and the hot tub with the kids tonight or tomorrow.
DD, you are embracing retirement! Good for you! I suggest yoga if you want to work on balance! I should listen to my own advice and get some of that in too!
