116.8

We have already been in Florida for 4 days and DH leaves in 3. Time flies when you are having fun! Somehow I lost sight of the fact that we have a mini-trip tacked onto this one which means I will end up being away a total of 2 weeks this time. Lots of coming and going! Makes me tired thinking about it. We must modify this pace for the future. One big consideration is that we stop making the change to the cape in the summer a major move, but just visit there a week or two at a time, keeping Florida as our home base. Something to think about.

Our visit with DH's former co-worker and his wife was quite interesting yesterday. I really liked her a lot and she was very different from what I expected. He is so talkative and once he starts there is essentially no interrupting him. I thought he was a narcissist only interested in himself but apparently he actually has Asperger's. So once on a tangent he can't get off it. And he has a difficult time interpreting other people's non-verbal cues as to whether they have something to say or are getting bored/lost with his discourse. His wife is almost exactly the opposite.

Today I have water aerobics and DH has golf, both immediately after our Justice walk so we need to be out the door by 7. Tough getting up when it is dar****il almost then. Dinner tonight is Mexican - we don't have any good places on the Cape for it and this place is great.

Have a momentary Monday!

I forgot to ask: Is anyone still sourcing Tirzepatide from Orderley? A friend is considering using them and wanted to make sure that the current compounded GLP-1/GIP will work effectively.

I sure do! It works quite well! I can heartily recommend them as a place to get it!

Good morning. Yesterday got away from me - mostly because I was exhausted! I took a 2+ hour late afternoon nap! (Which may not have been the best idea since I was awake until 1:30 last night!)

I'm not exactly feeling refreshed either. We woke up to Lucky having a seizure around 6:30 am. Generally not a big deal. They last about a minute, sometimes two, then it stops. He'll get up in a daze and then settle down to sleep to get over it. Today's seizure lasted about 15 minutes. I finally decided to take him in to the ER and was getting dressed when it stopped. He's back to his normal seizure hung over self. Whew! Had I taken him to the ER he most likely would not have been coming home. You may remember his brother had a "never ending" seizure last January and I went to be with him when he was euthanized.

203.2 I am pleased by this number since yesterday after a day of airplane travel I was up to 205 something. YIKES!!! That was not so okay in my book.

Today is a quick trip to the plastic surgeon, then Grizz goes for his final inoculations. I want to visit dad and I have a training session. I also need to start working on Buster for this weekend and our upcoming Minnesota trip.

Magnificent Monday to all!

Poor Lucky. Is it some sort of genetically caused epilepsy which will ultimately kill Lucky? :(

Originally it was thought to be caused by isoxazoline (flea medicine - a neurotoxin). But we are pretty sure now it is a genetic issue triggered by the isoxazoline. He has siblings that have epilepsy, too. Some who have not taken the isoxazoline medication.

While one of his brothers died from the seizure disorder, it's not necessarily a death sentence. Only time will tell. The nice thing is that he is unaware of the seizures and has no memory of them. Nice how the brain manages that. He is often a bit loopy or unsteady during the recovery hours after a seizure, but often he's back to his normal self in under an hour. So far the seizures are not very regular. He has one about every two months or so. Today's was the longest and most intense I have witnessed.

Hopefully it won't be that severe for Lucky. My youngest daughter has a genetic form of epilepsy (Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy). In the beginning she just had random arm or leg jerks. They got really bad in her last year of college which was when it was diagnosed. Unfortunately has had quite a few grand mal seizures since she turned 30 some of which were very scary for her when she woke up from them. They changed her medication a couple of years ago and she hasn't had one since. But she doesn't drive long distances anymore.

Posting from the porch! Today's thrift store treasure was an LP of Elvis singing gospel. We still have a turntable, so we're listening to it right now. Its so nostalgic for me. Back in the 60s and 70s old school hymns were part of the soundtrack of my life. My Mom loved some of the Southern gospel groups and Mahalia Jackson. I think that's where my love of rhythm and blues came from. And not rnb, but How Great Thou Art still rocks my world.

It's an interesting idea Liz to start framing Cape Cod house as a place to visit, instead of another home base. With the ease of flying in and out of the Cape from Florida, you can easily stay connected. Would it be hard to keep the level of maintenance the two of you would like? Would you have to spend one of your weeks "opening" for the season, and another "closing"?

Peps, I'll see you in about 2 weeks! You are truly earning Road Warrior credentials this summer.

It's hard for me to remember it's almost mid August. Friends are starting to post pictures of their classrooms, and going to extra trainings. Not me Never been so relaxed in August probably in my whole life.

I'm with you on the whole "Never been so relaxed in August..." thing! I took a selfie today of me having my first non Teacher Workday before the first day of school and sent it to my colleagues. I only got one F U! LOL!
