118.2 - those mini hot dogs may be creeping up!

Lots going on for many of you: Peps traveling with the dogs, Diane S on a plane, DD leaving soon for Scotland and Paula selling her house in less than a day. Exciting times!

Up here it was cloudy and windy yesterday. Not unpleasant so we took 2 long Justice walks in addition to doing errands. I made a recipe for Italian Chicken Roll-ups in OH from July 2024 which I had taken a screenshot of and never made. Easy and pretty good though I would add a bit of seasoning to the chicken. I served it with Skinny Pasta which we had not tried before but it was very good. Great substitute if craving pasta though it is expensive.

Today DH will be gone for golf from noon to 6, so I don't know what I will do. If the sun comes out fully (it is peeking now), I may go to the beach for a while though it is still quite windy from the edge of Hurricane Erin. Or maybe I will poke around in some stores. Then there is music from 3-5 at a place nearby. We shall see.

But first a Justice walk this morning. Have a fiscal Friday!

120.2. A new low! The only lower weight can remember was 116 in high school and I was anorexic! I think I need to try Diane's trick of eating a big spoonful of peanut butter before bed. I already had my ice cream for the day! The last 2 shots were only 1 mg and were 10 days apart. I had my last one on Sunday and won't take another one before surgery on September 3 (doctor's orders). I know I need extra calories to heal from surgery so I think I won't take a shot again until I hit 125.

Buying/selling chaos ensues! Trip book to FL, pre approval for loan completed, got an estimate on home insurance prices just so we know what we are getting into. Sent FL realtor a list of homes we are interested in looking at! Whew!

Wish I was going to the beach with Liz! Dogs had me up at 4 (after staying up past 11:30) so I will nap then get back at it!

I eat the peanut butter on 1/2 English muffin when trying to add back calories. Very satisfying!

Skinny Pasta! So good! Slightly weird consistency but if you love pasta with lots of sauce (I do), a great vehicle for the sauce!

It's my dad's 96th b'day today. Wish I were with him. However, ...

I am enjoying Minnesota. It really is a beautiful state. I think I felt the same two years ago when I was here. Too bad it gets so bitterly cold in the winter. I'm not sure I would manage. And not a fan of the humidity here. Yet, I feel strangely at home here.

Two more sleeps before meeting DD and her DH for dinner! So looking forward to that.

I have never been to Minnesota but have known quite a few people from there who also say it is beautiful.

Happy Birthday to your Dad!

Our tribe is dynamic and shifting as we move about and make our plans and do our things.

I wish I could say that Wegovy usage was causing me to consider how to gain weight. Not so. I continue to fight with 3 pounds (admittedly not fighting SUPER hard) above the range I kept for 2 years. DH is at the max dose of Zepbound, and says he doesn't really feel much affect anymore. He will stop dosing in another month as he is now transitioning to Medicare. He is considering rejoining Weigh****chers as the tracking has helped him with maintenance in the past. He might try Metformin as another maintenance boost.

I will also lose my Wegovy coverage in a year when I start Medicare. Or, it could be sooner, as the health insurance i use from my district as a retirement benefit has signaled they want to discontinue covering weight loss meds. I still feel suppressed appetite a few days after my shot. One of my hopes is perhaps my metabolism will improve with continued exercise and resistance training, and not taking so many other medications such as Tamoxifen. Thank goodness my sleeve is still a powerful tool.

DD's insurance at the VA just stopped covering Zepbound. She went back to buying it from a compounding pharmacy while her doctor is filing an appeal because it helped so much with her endometriosis.

Is it beyond crazy that the holy grail of effective weight loss medication was finally discovered, but is out of reach for so many people? And the research continues to point to so many additional health benefits beyond weight loss. What a loss that it can't be prescribed as widely as it is needed.

Today I was finally able to dig into some final trip planning, and make reservations on two ferries, for massages in Iona, for a castle tour, hop on hop off tours, order an adapter etc. Some clothes are laid out, much more to do there. Oh, and I checked into the Electronic Visa you have to apply for now when traveling in the U.K. and got that taken care of. Still many details to tend to, but I see it all coming together. Getting excited!

Enjoyed all your musings regarding the GLP 1s to which I echo a big Amen! It is interesting how some of us are super responders and others not as much!

It would be nice to think that the pharmaceutical companies would rethink their pricing and realize that they might get as much in profit if everyone could afford it rather than a declining number of people as they lose coverage. It seems like most health plans are removing coverage for weight loss purposes. Eli Lilly does have a somewhat reduced price way of getting Zepbound in vials but it is still around $400-$500 a month.

Your trip is coming soon! When do you leave?
