118.2 - Hungry horrors yesterday but they are less frequent and different than they used to be. I don't crave as much junk, so they don't usually do too much damage.
Good luck to Paula and her DH on the first day of the drive to the next new adventure in her life!
The pot roast came out great yesterday with very little work. The recipe I used didn't have much seasoning at the beginning (no salt and pepper), so about 1/2 hour before it was supposed to be done I tasted it and decided to add the salt and pepper but also added balsamic vinegar because I had seen that in a different recipe. It tasted terrific. Definitely a repeat!
I got a call from the osteoporosis specialist office and my first 3 Evenity injections (out of 12) are scheduled. It was a bit of a challenge because we had to time them around our Christmas trip home, a cruise in January, and a couple of weeks in the Keys in February. My first one is the day before Thanksgiving. Supposedly one doesn't get too many side-effects usually except sore arms (there are 2 injections - one in each arm).
The house is clean! It was so cold around here especially with a super brisk wind that it seemed like a good time to do the thorough cleaning that had to happen before Thanksgiving guests come in 10 days. We will do a touch-up then. I have a lady coming this afternoon to give me a quote for washing all the windows and mirrors. There are a LOT of them so I don't want to try it (plus I can't seem to do the mirrors on the wall without getting streaks). I know it sounds weird to have mirrors on the wall but though we planned to remove them when we bought the place, they really grew on us because they reflect the view of the water vs the room so really bring that view indoors. The lady will also provide a quote for housecleaning. We shall see if I decide to do that now. I had a housekeeper up north for the last 20+ years, but have never used one in Florida because I have been retired and clean at my own pace. But I will need one sooner or later.
It is supposed to be warmer by 10 degrees today. Which would make it around 55 degrees a****er aerobics time. She will do the class if it is 55 or warmer but do I want to be in the water in 55 degree weather??? Have a warm Wednesday!

Happy travels to Paula and her DH. Florida Bound!
202.8 this morning. I woke up feeling trim. Such a great feeling!
Have to return the two suits I ordered. I ordered the wrong cut. Not sure what I was thinking. I ordered a slim fit instead of the modern (regular) cut for the jacket. I wear a slim fit pant, but I am not a slim fit for a jacket. I'm far too broad.
Great day yesterday for getting a few things accomplished. I had the dentist, dropped off and picked up cleaning, saw my dad and dropped off the paperwork for his new pharmacy (requested by the memory care place), got the eggs and chicken cooked for the dogs for the next week, had a really thorough workout for back, biceps and shoulders, and got dinner on the table and still had plenty of sitting around time.
I had a dream this morning of not knowing which class I started with at Walnut Heights (the school I taught on Thursdays). Then I started stressing about not having taught much there at all this year and having no memory of the classes there. My subconscious was interrupted by my consciousness which interjected into the dream that I was retired and this was nothing but a dream, so stop stressing. At that point I awakened and utterly delighted that I didn't have to go to school!
I have thought about a cleaning person. But then I dismiss it because one, I am able bodied and two, I think the dogs are just too much for someone to deal with - even if they are crated. Plus, our house is small. It's easily cleaned in a couple of sessions throughout the week. I'd rather spend the money on a massage or dinner out!
It is a wintery Wednesday here. I'm going to have to wear jeans. Boooo....
You've earned those broad shoulders! Yes, still happy everyday when I don't have to go to work. I'm surprised though that I have no dreams at all about school or studentd etc. I guess dreams about things happening with my parents are taking up the stress center in my brain. Oh, and I did dream I was in Brazil and people in a cafe we're yelling at me because of the tariffs on Brazil.
You have worked hard for those broad shoulders. I think slim suits are for really young or frail guys. Even deceased DH who was very slim (6'3" and 170 pounds) didn't wear that cut.
Weird dream - good to be retired isn't it?

55 degrees and in the pool? That's Minnesota behavior! I have been in Florida (heated) pools when it was 55 degrees, because it was a cold snap on my vacation, but darn it, I'm swimming anyhow. Getting out is the problem : ) Curious what you decided.
Safe travels Paula! Can't wait to see pictures once you're moved in.
Beautiful sun again today, but it's deceptive. It's cold out there. Yesterday evening our Facebook was blowing up with photos of the Northern Lights. We drove over to a local park to look. Since we live south of Minneapolis, the city lights interfere a lot. We could see the white and blue columns shooting up into the sky, but not the colors. Still pretty.
I carefully repotted several plants that were on the patio/porch to bring into the house for winter. Dang, despite my best efforts, I have gnats. At first I thought they were the weirdest of fruit flies, but then I finally figured it out. There are only a few, but they just love to find you and fly around by your face. I just ordered some traps, and plant safe insecticide. It's a war on gnats and I will prevail!!!
I had a hungry day yesterday too. I forgot to weigh this morning in my hurry to get dressed, so I don't know if there was any damage. So far, so good today. I'm going to go work out a little later thsn normal, but there were a few things I wanted to get started in the morning. I'll be leaving the house as soon as the dryer is done. I know someone whose house started on fire because of their dryer. I am so paranoid now. I clean the lint trap every time, even if it was a little load, and I never leave the house while it's operating.
Tonight we have the jazz concert. I'm looking forward to it!
I did go to water aerobics! It was 55 when the class started but the water was really warm. There were 6 of us. I did leave 10 minutes early because I had to shower and go to a dental cleaning so I missed the cooling down part (which would have been really cold).
Get those gnats!

No weight for the foreseeable future. I think PODS will get to FL Nov. 22.
We are in Kentucky currently. Another 3.5 hours until we get to our first destination which is Chattanooga TN. Long day of travel, especially with a little black dog on my lap the entire time! Both dogs had Trazodone this morning!
Glad all is good with you all despite cold weather and odd dreams. I could never justify a housekeeper but like the idea! Like Peps, I can think of better uses gift discretionary money!
Cheaper than smoking (but I don't do that either).
Thanks for checking in. Long day and big changes for the dogs too!

I am 100% on the bandwagon for housekeeping. I'm not the greatest at it (okay, actually not good at all) and I despise house cleaning (Although not as much as before because I'm not so crunched for time). It's so expensive in Minnesota. I've tried out a few services, because I thought, I don't care what it costs, it's worth it. Maybe I don't know how to find the good services, or need to pay even more, because they were very disappointing. I had a great service when I was first married and working long hours, with a 45 minute commute each way. Cleaning days were my favorite, because the house smelled so nice when I opened the door. Sadly, that person retired years ago.

Here's my Northern Lights pic! I have a tripod and went on the roof deck. This is pointed at Doe mtn behind my house with a 30 sec exposure:
I could see a faint cast of moving red with my eyes. So cool.
It's cloudy today and building to rain this weekend.
Kirby is all scrubbed, sweet smelling, and fluffy! Brushing him has always been a nightmare as he treats it like a full body wrestling match complete with teeth. I got him a new brush this week and it has really made him less playfully combative. His old slicker bru****hink was too sharp, which I realized when I accidentally brushed my leg with it and it hurt! This one has dipped tips and he is much calmer with it (though still a ways from calm).
I also jumped on the pot roast train, but after I made my shopping list, I forget where I saw the recipe, so I have to go hunt for it...
Have a great day!
